the opening of a shell / the shell that hides a pearl | Geto x F!Reader
Suguru supports you in all that you do, builds you up whenever he can, especially when he’s got you in his bed and hanging on his every word.
❥ WC: 2.5k
❥ Notes: a request for geto + praise, set in a canon-divergent AU where Geto didn’t defect and reader is a sorcerer with newly awakened powers - but as usual is 95% pwp
❥ Warning: fem bodied reader, praise, established relationship, geto is sort of a mentor to reader due to his experience, pet names (pretty girl, good girl, sweetheart, my girl, perfect girl), kissing, hickeys/marking, vaginal sex, creampie

It’s hard to not be intimidated by your boyfriend. Even the knowledge that you and you alone are the one that gets to refer to him as that—your boyfriend—is enough to have you flustered sometimes.
Not flustered exactly… that isn’t quite the right word… and you do always struggle with coming up with the right words to describe your feelings around Suguru, because it’s too soon to use the first word that comes to mind.
Maybe it leaves you proud, or unsure, or even just dazzled that you have such an impressive boyfriend, and that he considers you to be the same. Impressive.
It’s strange how he manages to act as a mentor without making you feel as though you’re beneath him, guiding you and praising you for your skill as a sorcerer even though your experience—the largest division between you two—pales in comparison to his. You suppose he just has those innate leadership skills though, and feel lucky that he sees your potential.
He does his all to make sure you see it too, in every facet of your life. What you lack in cursed energy can be made up for with a carefully honed technique. What you lack in experience can be helped by the knowledge gained through experiences of his own. What you lack in confidence, even if that uncertainty forms for only a moment, can be built with your steadily building skill and Suguru’s mouth, in more ways than one.
It’s something he does with as much ease as anything else. When you doubt if you’re really suited for work you’ve been sent on. When you’re debating what to wear, or looking at yourself unkindly. When you look at him, so lost in his gorgeous appearance that you might have forgotten that there’s just as much beauty in your own. He’s quick to quell any doubts. And even in the absence of those creeping negative feelings, he’s quick to add yet another building block of confidence to what is already there.
Reminding you of the feats you’d managed to accomplish in the short time since your powers had awakened. Reminding you that he’s with you for a reason.
Or, like right now, by lying you back onto your bed quietly, spreading your legs in wait for his touch, kissing your neck and smiling at every noise you make, all while lilting out comments about how perfect you are for him until you’ve lost track of time completely, nevermind any lingering doubts.
“You don’t have to say all of that, Suguru…”
“I know,” he looks up at you through the few stray hairs falling down into his face, “but it needs to be said…”
He brings his mouth back to your skin, pressing kisses between your breasts, lips rubbing gently across the goosebumps forming from his attention. “Until you remember.”
Words from his lips fall with such a playful ease that it’s hard not to read into them. It almost muddies the waters for when he is being genuinely loving and affectionate like this - although maybe he was always being that way with you? Gentle guidance with a heart behind his hand as he helps you find the way to be your very best.
It’s a kind of confusion you find exciting, one you’re sure you’ll look back on fondly when you finally reach that point in your relationship where you can reveal your own hand to him fully. Though you’d be surprised if he couldn’t already see it. From the knowing smile you get with his sideways glance down at you as you steady your breathing under his praise. When you look to him before anyone else when dealing with a cursed spirit. When you clench and swell for him when he’s hardly even touched you, because his words are touch enough.
“Your skin is so soft…”
The first time he’d said it, before you’d even started dating, is when he grabbed your hand to help you up after getting thrown onto your back in training. You’d waved off the feeling it had built in you with an off handed comment about your moisturizer of choice—he’d found that cute the first time. Every time since, though, it’s said with a little more authority behind it. Suguru is stating a fact, that happens to be a compliment, and you’re going to take it for him.
You reach down to grab at his hand and he intertwines your fingers, squeezing in a way that you almost think telegraphs that he knows exactly the memory you’re thinking of.
“I’m talking to you pretty girl, look at me.”
It’s the least you can do, with the way he had your pussy drooling for him, and the way he was undoubtedly going to take care of that for you. Once your eyes have locked onto his, his face flashes from observing to adoring, soft smile tugging at his lips as he trails a hand down your stomach.
“Like I was saying, so soft.” His fingers make their way between your legs, pressing at your puffy lips through your panties, “Especially here.”
His smile widens in time with your brows furrowing at how intense such a small touch was after so much teasing and talking from Suguru. He presses into you again, this time with his finger settled between your lips, and he lets out an impressed hiss of breath at how your clit throbs for him, a breath you take in with the gasp his actions pull from you. Then, the pressure is gone, replaced with him softly gliding the pad of his finger upwards, petting so gentle it would have hardly been felt if you weren’t so desperate for more.
You tense, want to arch your hips upward, to get him to rub a little harder, and he chuckles like he knows, nose brushing at yours. It’s a move that sends your mind into a frenzied debate over whether to close the distance between your mouths, or to angle your hips up in search of the friction that you need. In the end, you do neither, because your focus is brought back to Suguru’s words: you want to hear them too much to kiss him. And once you’ve heard them you want to live up to them too much to chase your high.
“You know what you want, don’t you? But you’re so patient for me. Waiting until I’m ready to give it to you.”
He presses a kiss to your cheek, bringing his mouth lower to whisper into your ear, and you’re grateful to have him close enough to be heard over the beating of your heart—but you suppose he knows all too well that he works you up into such a frenzy that it’s as if all your senses have dulled just to make sure you can savour every touch you receive from him.
Even now, the feel of his breath tickling at your skin is much more prominent than the words floating through the haze of lust surrounding you, though they’re always able to slip into the cracks of your mind.
“Want me to kiss it?”
You shake your head, and he leans back to meet your eyes, surprised at your response, before smiling again as he guesses at why you’ve declined. “You want it already? My needy girl… I love it.”
Hearing that word from him, even when it isn’t followed by that crucial ’you’, has a happiness bubbling up in your chest with such ferocity that you let out a little laugh, matched by Suguru and followed by a hungry kiss. It’s different from the small pecks or languid kisses you’ve gotten so far tonight. His kiss is sudden, hungry, something separate from his usual cool composure, and it pushes you to reach up to him. You slide your hands up the back of his neck, fingers dipping into his thick hair and running along his scalp.
He gives you the reins for that moment, letting you taste his lips, run your fingers through his hair, pull him so close he has to move his hands to either side of you on the bed to keep his full weight off of you. But you want just that, so you wrap your legs around his hips, pulling him further into your embrace until he’s settled between your thighs, grinding into you gently. You enjoy your momentary detour, relishing in the feel of his tongue against yours, before you start to feel that lack of what it is you want most right now—his soft words.
Your kisses move to the corners of his mouth, along his jaw, and settle on his neck. When he lets out a groan, and his adam’s apple bobs against your lips, you’re emboldened to suck and lick at his skin there, letting whatever marks may form happen.
Without words, or without your words, Suguru knows exactly what you’re doing and exactly what you need, picking up where he left off.
“Trying to leave a mark?” If it weren’t said so playfully, it would have given you pause. “Good girl, let everyone know I’m yours.”
It makes his movements difficult, but he can’t pull away from your kisses, so instead he props himself up above you on one elbow while he works his pants down with the other, freeing his cock and letting it press against you as he stops for a moment to let the intensity of your mouth’s work against his skin wash over him. You make a move yourself, pulling your hand from his hair to pull your panties to the side, keeping them held aside as he groans at the feel of the underside of his cock finally being able to press against your wetness.
He stays like this, thrusting gently against your folds, giving you the slightest friction with wet, sensitive skin against skin, until he gives you the final say.
“Let me hear your pretty voice.”
You do it gladly, “I need it, Suguru.”
“No, sweetheart,” He finally pulls back, rubbing his nose against yours and tracing his tongue along your parted lips as he lines himself up with your entrance. “You deserve it.”
He swirls the head of his cock around your entrance, dipping in until just the tip is kissed by your warmth. “For being so strong,” he pushes in, just so the ridge of his thick head catches at your tightness as you clench around him with the anticipation of him sliding deep and fucking you as well as he always does.
“For being so open, so eager for me,” he gives you shallow thrusts, pausing his praise for just a moment to groan at the sticky sounds of him stirring up your pussy.
“For taking everything I-“ he presses deep, one thrust right to the hilt, that leaves him groaning as his eyes roll for a moment and you moan out his name in your own form of praise.
“For taking everything I have to give you in stride, and turning it into something more than I could have imagined.”
You want him to move, you need him to move, though not as much as you need him to continue on. So you curl your toes and hold your breath, trying your very hardest not to rock your hips into his, or clench around him, or do anything that would interrupt his words further until he’s ready to give you what you need—what you deserve.
“For opening me up, and letting-“ his jaw clenches and he lets out a huff, returning to shallow thrusts that slowly pick up in intensity as he speaks, until his voice is hitching just to get the rest of it out before your pussy draws him in too deep to keep his carefully crafted composure, “letting me spill myself into you.”
“You’re so good to me, so so good.” And that’s that, with his next words his pace is set, long and deep with hips rocking up just right to have you making noises you didn’t know could come from your lips, “My good girl.”
The sound of your bodies in motion replaces any words Suguru might have formed: hips slapping together, stomachs sliding against one another, heat squelching as you clench at him every time he’s buried deep. He moans every time your bodies are flush against one another, pressing more firmly each time as though he could find a way further into you. Instead, it slides you slowly up the bed, until your hands are pressing at the headboard, only intensifying the sound of it hitting the wall behind it, but neither of you are concerned. Not when you’re both so desperate to see the other break, to feel the other coming undone.
You get there first, Suguru always makes sure of it. When your back arches and your thighs start to tense, he kisses at your jaw, flicking the tip of his tongue at your earlobe before speaking low. “Don’t tense, don’t tense…”
You listen, as much as your body screams to do otherwise, and as you relax into the steady movement of his thrusts you feel like your whole body is pulsing with every slap of his abdomen against your clit.
“That’s my girl, just like that.”
It feels endless, like you’ll cum until there’s no more air to fill your lungs. As the waves peak and sweep you up, Suguru’s movements stutter, ever so slightly—enough to have you begging in the only way your body can manage as you let out a little whine.
“Ah?” He repeats it, stilted and playful even in his frenzy, and when your rolling eyes meet his he’s looking at you with warmth, devotion, something not entirely unlike the way you catch yourself looking at him. Then it’s like he’s heard your thoughts somehow, just by looking at you, but he wants them said aloud.
“Please?”
You nod, receiving the words he could see in your eyes and repeating them back now that he had formed them for you, “Please.”
He gives you what you’ve asked for, reaching his peak on the tail end of yours as he fills you with his cum, pouring it into you in throbbing waves as his thrusts turn to staggered, rough snapping of his hips until he’s letting his weight fall onto you completely. Your hands find their way back into his hair, running through it, sweat be damned, as he sighs gently.
He lets you hold him, kissing gently at your neck, before he decides he needs more air than he’ll get with his head buried there. He pulls out, slowly, rubbing at your waist to soothe the little shiver that goes through you at his absence, before he’s settling his weight back on top of you and resting his head on your chest. He presses a kiss there between your breasts, smiling to himself as he whispers.
“My perfect girl…”

Siren!RE4R!Leon drabbles
(Read while listening to this! Also, this is a re-upload because the first version of this drabble had some issues and I just had to fix those, particularly in similarities with other works.)
Siren!Leon who lures in sailors with his pretty face towards the rocks or stormy seas, ripping apart humans who fall for the superficial and relish in the fresh taste of their blood.
Siren!Leon who prefers being solitary, preying on ships alone. He doesn't need anyone by his side; it’s best to survive alone, with no liability hanging around him that could possibly complicate things. He likes it simple, and prefers it this way too.
Siren!Leon who spotted you from afar, walking on the shoreline with your skirt lifted. He observed you from behind a sunning rock, a storm-hued gaze intently studying your movements. He sees you waddle over to a rock near shore, sitting on it but letting your legs stay submerged. A pleased expression is on your face, your legs swinging in the warm seawater.
Siren!Leon who saw you frequent that rock, doing the same thing each time– same time, same rock, same duration on keeping your legs soaked in the water. He began bringing small fish and shellfish to the rocks with the hopes of grabbing your attention though every time, without fail, you always toss his bait back to the sea; you’re a lot more intelligent than he thought. It’s going to be a lot harder to make a meal out of you.
Siren!Leon who finds himself in the midst of a hunt in a bad storm, the waves tossing and turning him beneath angry waves. He managed to catch and eat his fill but the water violently thrashed him, the world turning upside-down and dark. He wakes up when he feels a tugging sensation on his tail, seeing you try to drag him back to the water by tail, grunting with effort. He looks at himself and spots how pale and green he’s gotten due to being exposed to the land for a long time.
Siren!Leon who is secretly thankful for your help because had you not tugged him back to the water, he’d be good as dry and dead. He must’ve hit his head or body while he was unconscious, his joints sore and a dull pain throbbing somewhere from behind his eye. He decides to stick to a diet of small fish and crustaceans for now, humans much too formidable for his injured state. When he’s back to full health, he begins bringing you more crabs and fish– his own way of saying thank you to you.
Siren!Leon who finally gets the courage to approach you, aware that his webbed fingers and long nails may look scary along with his sharpened teeth. He explains that he’s been the one bringing the fish and shells and that he’s seen you on that sunning rock many times. He puts off the idea of eating you, his conscience not letting him do that after you’ve just saved him. You explain to him that the reason you only douse your legs are because of a certain skin ailment, your doctors prescribing the medicinal properties of seawater for your condition.
Siren!Leon who suggests wrapping seaweed and kelp for your legs. Though the idea is funny, you let him do that though you have a bit of a distrust towards him. He wraps your legs delicately, making sure that the aquatic plant is on your skin comfortably. You let him do that each time you come to the rock, seeing significant improvements on the welts in your legs– it hurts and itches less now.
Siren!Leon who finds himself frowning when it’s time for you to go, hoping that the sun rises faster than the moon can sink so it’s another day for you to come back again. Soon, the thoughts of walking on land swim into his mind– how do humans live? What do you do there? What do you eat? A fuzzy feeling washes over his chest the more he thinks about you– it’s as if there’s a storm raging in his heart but he doesn’t feel very bad about it, just the opposite in fact. Now, he spends the night looking for pearls and pretty shells to give to you. You’ve also seemed to take a liking for shrimp, so he looks for those too. There was one time where you brought back a cooked version of the shrimps he gave you, letting him have a bite and it tastes totally different. It doesn’t suit his appetite but it suits yours and that is enough to satiate his cravings.
Siren!Leon whose feelings for you grow everyday, the urge to crawl on the shore and follow you to wherever you live clawing its way to the front of his mind. Being alone out in the great ocean without you is no longer the life Leon wants to have for himself; why had he deprived himself of company? Was it because fate made him wait for you to waltz into his life? Was this solitude him subconsciously reserving himself for you? He would do whatever it takes to be able to join you in land– learn how to write, count, eat food cooked, and keep his nails trimmed.
Siren!Leon who enjoys hearing you read aloud and describe how your day went in full detail. He discovered that he enjoys books, loving it the most when you read to him. He never really cared about words or readings, his past self would think that those were simply symbols plastered on a surface– nothing deeper than that. Here he is, begging you to read him one more chapter before you leave again because whenever you read the symbols plastered on refined tree bark, your voice has given them beauty and deeper meaning.
“I wish I could see the world you live in, even for just an evening,” You gently confess to him, curious about the world of turquoise beneath foamy waves.
“You have my eyes. I’ll tell you everything there is in here.” Leon reassures with a toothy smile, sharp teeth bared but it doesn’t scare you. Your soul is a constellation of the brightest stars, his eyes dedicated to be mesmerized for you and you only like he’s your astrologer.
Siren!Leon who spends the night gathering all the treasures, pearls, shells, stones, and kelp that he can. He crawls to the shore where land and water clash, praying that the tides don’t wash away the artwork he lays out for you. Of course, he doesn’t fail to adorn your rock with other pretty things. His mind works with two different things at the same time: the art he lays out and how to put his feelings into words.
Siren!Leon who waits for you eagerly, staying in shallow waters where anyone can see the glisten of his tail. All night he looked after every single rock and shell, making sure that not a single bit of his work was misplaced or moved by the tides, even in the daytime when the sun was branding the surface with its searing touch. After what seemed like forever, he finally sees you approaching the shoreline. He can’t hold back anymore: he crawls into the shore, hands clawing at the sand to drag himself to you.
“Leon, please get in the water.” You urge him with a shaky voice, placing your trembling hands on his shoulders.
“Why–”
“Please, just get in the water!”
He turns around and crawls back to the sea but he avoids the intricately laid out shells and stones as he makes his way back. He looks back at you but you stay behind on the shore, not even aware that the ground you’re in is a large mosaic of a sea turtle migration that Leon made.
“Y/N, what’s going on?” He worriedly asks.
You hear sounds from behind you: the loud grunts of men with their fishing lines, nets, and harpoons storming towards the coastline. You have no time, urging Leon farther from shallower waters.
“You need to hide,” you tell him. He stays there, staring at you with a puzzled expression. “Hurry! They’re coming this way!”
You urge him farther but he isn’t budging, coming nearer to you instead with pleading eyes.
“I’ll tell them that you swam off, okay?” Your voice grows increasingly shaky, an uncomfortable lump lodging in your throat. Leon swims closer, crawling nearer to the shore where people can easily see him.
“Don’t follow me,” you plead with him as tears begin to brim on your waterline, a delicate balance between holding on and setting him free. “Go away, you idiot! You’ll die if you come with me!”
Despite all your pleas with him, it falls on deaf ears as Leon still crawls closer to you, his heart shattering at how distressed you look; you didn't even notice what he worked on all night, you didn’t even raise your skirt above your ankles. With each advance Leon makes, you move back, moving further from the sea. Your tears are finally let loose, forming rivers of pain on your cheeks. Sobs wrack your body, your figure trembling from the emotions setting itself free from the confines of your aching heart. Leon can only watch and hope that his mere presence is enough to soothe you, unable to stand and wipe those tears from your face.
“Go!” He inches closer. “Piss off! I hate you!” He inches closer again, placing a comforting hand against your foot but you move further away, a jolt of disbelief settling unpleasantly in his system. “Get your dirty hands away from me! Just leave me, you goddamn fool!”
Now you’re screaming, hoping that the wind would drown out your pained cries. You’re sobbing loudly, tears spilling like endless rain. Leon is still inching closer towards shore, desperation gnawing at him despite his silence.
“Don’t you follow me!” You shriek. He stops moving forward and just gazes up at you with a pleading gaze, his eyes heavy with the weight of tears yet to fall.
“Don’t go.” He softly begs, tenderly wrapping webbed limbs around your ankle as casts his head down. You cry even harder now, your soul unravelling like embroidery with each wail. A tear of Leon’s cascades down his cheek, saltier than his turquoise home. You move further and retreat inland, freeing yourself from his gentle hand but he crawls after you.
“Go away! I’m going away now!” You scream, picking up a pebble and throwing it towards his direction. The pebble hits his cheek, the crimson a contrast against his pale skin.
“I’m sorry! Just… don’t follow me!”
He doesn’t follow you anymore, watching you run back towards the land without sparing a single look to the poor siren who you’ve enchanted with the song of your kind heart.
Siren!Leon who risks getting caught by hunters on the shore by waiting for you, fixing the rocks and shells on the coastline so it’ll be pretty when you come back.
NOTE - As I said earlier, this is a re-upload of the same drabble I posted last night but there's changes in terms of lines and content because one of the parts I added was a little too similar to another author's drabbles and I didn't mean to do that so ofc I took the post down to fix it and apologized to the author so there's that. The Siren!Leon concept was inspired by @bumblebeesfromvenus drabble so go check it out coz it's so good!!! Anyways, that's it and tysm for reading my drabble!!!!!! I <33333 UUUUUUU

Finnick Odair definitely teaches his kids how to swim when and if you have any. he loves seeing the joy on their little face when they finally get the hang of it (and he’s probably even more happy because now he has a swimming buddy)
And if you’re the type of person who isn’t a huge swimmer (i’m projecting) he’ll also show your babies how to find pearls and shows them what type of shells you like, and every time the two of them go out they come back with little gifts for you <3

sorry for asking for more mer au when you've done so much but I'd like to request hurt/comfort with hunter and a reader who has a fear of deep water since nearly drowning as a child, and being afraid of mer because of it, and hunter helping her overcome her fears :)
Please Trust Me
Summary: Hunter finally found her, his soul mate. She’s perfect. Pretty and kind and good…and absolutely terrified of him and the ocean. Luckily, Hunter has never been one to give up.
Pairing: TBB Hunter x F!Reader
Word Count: 1566
Warnings: physical assault
Prompt: MerSoul AU
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni @imabeautifulbutterfly
A/N: Alright, sorry that this took so long, I wasn't sure how to start it out, but I think I have it where I like it now! Happy reading!
Hunter has been watching her for days, long enough that he knows his brothers would give him a hard time if they knew about it. They don’t, of course, because he had to swim upriver just to keep an eye on her, and his brothers wouldn’t follow him.
Several days ago Hunter decided to sing for his soulmate, and she appeared. Confused and unsure, she clung to the railing on the pier. But when he tried to talk to her, she flinched as if he brandished a blade at her, and ran off.
He’s not sure if it’s the water she’s afraid of, or him, but Hunter is determined to figure it out.
And encourage her to love him.
His time watching her has taught Hunter a lot about his mate. For one, she’s kind. He has seen her tending to younger siblings (or perhaps cousins? The children look like her, but they call her by name so she can’t be their mother—), and the children clearly adore her.
She’s also very steady, when a neighbor came over to yell at her for something the kids did, she withstood his shouting without flinching and then tore him a new one.
It was insanely attractive.
He’s also noticed that she never wandered close to the lake that he’s temporarily living in. In fact, she gives the lake a wide berth, as though afraid that the water will reach out a grab her.
Which is a problem.
How is he supposed to win her over if she refuses to come near the water?
Hunter has spent several days considering this very problem and has finally come up with a solution. He’s going to sing for her, nightly, and use a messenger crab to deliver little trinkets and pretty shells to her.
With luck, she’ll be curious enough to come and see what’s going on.
And if she doesn’t…well, he’ll just have to try something else.
It takes three nights of singing and three mornings of her waking up with new presents before she comes to investigate the lake.
She comes to the water early in the morning, following Hunter’s messenger crab, and she stops at the edge of the dock. She’s trembling, even from a distance Hunter can see that, but she’s clutching the string of pearls he sent to her this morning, and he can see the small blue shell he had delivered to her yesterday hanging around her neck.
She clearly likes the presents, and Hunter couldn’t be more thrilled about that knowledge if he tried.
He pops out of the water, far enough away that she can retreat if she feels like she has to, and he feels a surge of delight when she doesn’t back away from him as he approaches.
Instead, nervously, she folds her legs under her and kneels on the dock, her hands wrapped tightly around one of the railings. She’s terrified, but she hasn’t left.
“You came!” Hunter blurts, unable to stop himself as he lifts himself out of the water so he’s able to see her face.
She stares at him, specifically at his waist where skin meets grey scales, and then lifts her gaze to meet his, “You’re a merman.” She sounds stunned.
“I am,” Hunter agrees, “I’ve been following you since that day on the beach.” He admits, sheepishly, “I think I scared you.”
She shakes her head, “I have hydrophobia,” She explains, “I left the beach because I had a panic attack. Honestly, I’m not very comfortable being here.”
Hunter’s gaze softens, “You don’t have to push yourself. I can wait for as long as you need.”
Her hands tighten around the string of pearls, “You keep leaving me presents—”
“I do. You’re my other half, my soul mate.” He explains, “You can feel it, can’t you?”
She presses her hand over her heart and lowers her gaze.
“You can.”
“Yeah, I can.” She admits after a moment of silence, “You deserve someone better than someone afraid of water.”
“Wait, wait.” Hunter lightly touches her arm, “I don’t want better, I have you and you’re all I want. I’m a patient person.”
She makes a face, “But what if I’m never comfortable in the water? I nearly drowned when I was a child, I don’t even know how to swim! I—”
“I would never let you get hurt.” Hunter interrupts, drawing a look of astonishment from her, “When you’re with me in the water, I promise that you’ll be safe. You just have to trust me.”
She averts her gaze for a moment and then opens her mouth to say something, but then someone calls for her from the house, “Um…I have to go.” She hesitates a moment longer, “Maybe we can continue this conversation later?”
“I’ll be here.” Hunter promises, “For as long as you need.”
She favors him with a small smile and then gets to her feet and carefully hurries back to the house. Hunter watches her leave before he lowers himself back into the water, he might as well try to get some rest while waiting for her to come back.
Several hours later, after sunset, Hunter is pulled from his light dozing at the sound of raised voices. The voices are muffled, but one is very obviously the voice of his soulmate.
Swiftly, he swims up to the surface and pokes his head just out of the water to see what’s going on.
Yelling isn’t unusual at this home, his soulmate usually isn’t involved though.
Hunter immediately finds her, standing on the dock, her back to the water, and her family’s neighbor in her face, yelling at her.
It’s almost as if time moves in slow motion. The neighbor lifts his hand and hits her with something, a stick of some kind, and Hunter’s heart sinks as she falls backward into the water.
His soulmate can’t swim, but she definitely can’t swim when she’s unconscious.
He swims faster than he’s ever swam before, diving to the bottom of the lake and wrapping his arms around her, before dragging her back to the surface.
She coughs out some water, and her head lolls to his shoulder, but she’s breathing, and that’s good enough for him. Hunter brushes some of her hair out of her face, carefully tilting her head so he can see where he hit her.
There’s a clear gash on her temple, and it’s bleeding badly. Quickly, Hunter rips the sleeve off of her shirt and presses the cloth against the open wound, to try and stem the bleeding.
He doesn’t dare bring her to shore, just in case the neighbor is waiting for her.
Eventually, something like 30 minutes later, she stirs awake and blinks, dazed, at Hunter.
“There you are,” He breathes out, “You scared me, pretty girl.”
She blinks at him slowly, and Hunter watches as slow awareness seeps into her dazed eyes. He recognizes the moment she realizes that she’s in water, as she tenses and her breath quickens.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay. You’re fine. I have you.” Hunter tightens his arms around her, “I have you, you’re safe with me. I promise. You need to calm down.”
It takes a few moments, but as she realizes that she’s not sinking and that she is, in fact, safe in his arms, the tension drains from her body and her breathing slows to a more even pace, “There we go.”
“What happened?” She asks him, her voice slightly hoarse.
“You don’t remember?”
She frowns at him, shifting in his arms so she’s able to wrap her arms around him, “I remember…I fed the kids and put them to bed.” She murmurs, “And then…” She pauses, “We had a visitor, I think? The neighbor. He was complaining about the kids, I told him he needed to stop yelling, and then—” her frown deepens, “And then…I don’t remember.”
“You were fighting on the dock, and he hit you with something, a stick of some kind.” Hunter explains, “You fell into the water.”
She stares at him, “You saved me?”
“Of course, I told you I would.”
She stares at him for a moment, and then she smiles at him and tightens her arms around him, “Thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me for doing the right thing,” He replies, “I’m just glad that I was here to help. You really should learn how to swim though, angelfish.”
She sighs softly and drops her head on his shoulder, “Yeah, I guess.”
“I can teach you if you like.”
She seems to curl into him, as best as she can, “I’d like that.” She pauses for a moment, “Oh, I have to get back to the house!”
“I have you, sweetheart. Hold on tight,”
As she hurries back to the house, slightly unsteady due to her head injury, Hunter watches her. He’s going to stick around for a bit longer, just in case the neighbor comes back, but he has high hopes for his connection with his soulmate.
He tilts his head and listens as she approaches the house, and he smiles when he hears her mother release a cry of horror, everything is going to be alright now. Her parents will take care of everything.
And Hunter will be here to deal with the man who tried to kill his soulmate, should he get to close to the lake.

PREVIOUS PART • NEXT PART
“Alright there, Moony? Looking a bit pale,” Sirius asks in between inhaling his breakfast and reviewing what sparse notes he made for the Potions NEWT.
Remus looks up from his mug of tea (gripped between large hands like a lifeline). There are shadows under his eyes: another late night, then. Exams are upon them, and the way Remus studies has become obsessive.
“You need food too, mate,” James piles bacon onto Remus’ plate, ignoring his grumbles – almost growls, since it’s only a week until the full moon and the lines blur a bit in those days. “Yes, you’re very big and very scary. Now eat your breakfast.”
I should have done that, Sirius thinks because something in him believes the job is his. He’s never been good at caring for anything, hanging onto James even for his own needs, but it’s different, somehow, with Remus. There is a duality: being thankful for James’ care and resentful of it.
The owls come as they do every day, a flurry of wings and feathers. It’s a bright, clear day and they disturb the sun rays as they swoop through the Great Hall.
Remus gets the newspaper (something obscure about literature) and a beautiful, haughty looking owl lands in front of Sirius, raising a dignified foot with a small parcel for him to unwrap.
“What did you get?” James asks as the owl takes off, scoffing at Sirius’ offering of a sausage.
It’s an oyster shell, gold encrusted with an artisan's precision. Inside of it a marble eye, a shade of green which reminds him of autumn and of something else. He finds comfort in the colour - it’s why he chose it – a memory of warm fires and long cozy nights, of the happiness he feels when, as Padfoot, he’s surrounded by pack.
Sirius clips the silver chain the oyster is attached to around his neck “It’s an oisrí feiceálaí,” he hopes he doesn’t butcher the pronunciation, glances at Remus to make sure, “I’ve come across them when researching for my dissertation.”
“What does an oyster have to do with ancient runes?” Remus finds his voice at the bottom of the tea mug.
“Well… nothing. I just thought it was neat. It’s the symbol of fifth dimensional vision.”
“Sure you didn’t accidentally study Divination?”
“Hilarious, Prongs.”
Something catches James’ eye across the Great Hall – more likely someone – and he shoots up with a harried I have to go, see you at the exam!
Remus leans across the table, with a careful hand reaches for the necklace. Studies it, turning it around in his fingers. They oyster looks small in his grasp, the silver more pronounced against the golden skin.
“Very pretty, Sirius,” he says, and Sirius feels the sentence like it means something else, “Will you tell me more about it, after the exam?”
Remus looks up from the oyster, straight into Sirius’ face, eyes reddened and shiny from the lack of sleep and –
- well, Sirius knows what the green reminded him of.
NOTES:
this is part two of a 30-part series of shorts: I’m aiming for them all to be readable as standalone but are a part of a bigger story (better read together and in order, in my opinion)
oisrí feiceálaí, to the best of my knowledge, means seer oyster in Gaelic. It’s not actually a thing but I came across this and thought it was pretty and ostentatious enough for Sirius to wear ALCHEMICAL OYSTER PEARL
Remus is always autumn to me - by that logic Sirius in Winter, James is Summer (self explanatory, really). Peter is Spring I suppose. But I don’t ever write him into my fics so who’s to say
speaking of Peter - let’s say he’s already at the venue for the potions exam, absolutely shaking from stress and desperately cramming last minute revision

The next day you can’t wait to see Joel. You’d stayed awake half the night just daydreaming about those dreamy brown eyes and calloused hands as you rolled back and forth in the silky pink clam shell bed. You want to see him again, want to ask him about all his sailing adventures and treasures he’s found. So that’s exactly what you’d do. Tonight.
You quickly check your hair in the long standing mirror and pick a rainbow colored sea flower from the ocean floor, spinning around in a circle as you bring it to your face to smell and place it back down in the soft sand. You flick your tail and swim through the kingdom of Capri as you pass other mermaids and mermen, trailing your fingers along golden palace walls and shimmery pearls that hang from strings beside the palace entrance.
Before you can make it out, you run into your father, the king of Capri. “Oh, hi father,” you say dreamily as your head fills with images of Joel’s handsome face.
“Morning, sweetie. Where are you off to in such a hurry? Haven’t seen you lately, you okay?” he asks as he trails his eyes over your lovesick expression, trying your best not to give yourself away.
“I’m okay. Just wanted to get a head start on picking some shells in the kelp beds. You know how I love making jewelry,” you lie, trying your best to keep a straight face as a slight giggle escapes your lips.
Your father looks at you carefully, his golden crown slipping further down his long locks as his glistening gold triton sits next to his intricate throne made of shells. If he suspects something, he doesn’t say. He just nods his head as a smile tugs at his lips.
“Ahh, I see. You always did make the finest jewelry in the kingdom,” he smiles. “Just be careful. Take Scar with you. I’ve been hearing rumors that humans have been getting close to the area. Don’t want you getting tangled up in that nonsense,” he warns, his eyes on fire as he thinks about the day he lost his most precious wife. The day you lost your mom and half your people. That cold, dreadful day.
“Promise, daddy. I’ll be safe.”
Marissa and Cleo narrow their eyes at you in the back of the room, knowing damn well you are in fact meddling in human affairs. You drag your eyes over to them and give them a pleading look, begging them not to say a word. They must acknowledge it because they don’t say a word, they just float and stare at you with beady eyes.
“Alright, well have fun. Just be careful and don’t talk to the eels. They’re always pulling nasty tricks with us,” he says with narrowed eyes.
“Goodbye, daddy,” you say as you wave and head out, swimming through thick beds of seaweed as you pass a school of clown fish.
You don’t get very far until Marissa and Cleo are swimming in front of you, blocking you from going any further.
“Where are you off to really?” Cleo asks as her long blonde hair spirals down her back, her aquamarine tail fanning out as she narrows her piercing blue eyes at you.
“You’re going to see that human again, aren’t you?” Marissa just copies her menacing look and crosses her arms as her tail turns a deeper purple than it was a few minutes ago.
You’re trapped. They know what you plan to do, and there’s no point lying to them. They know. “Tonight, yes,” you confess with a sigh, feeling them judge you harshly by the way they gnash their teeth in your direction.
“You’re so selfish, you know that? Risking our kind, for what? So you can live out your little daydream of finding love with a human? You’re so fucking selfish, sister. So stupid,” Marissa says with sharp incisors snarling in your direction.
You take it upon yourself to fight back, defend your stance. “I’m not being selfish! If you just for once listened to me, you’d know he was different. He doesn’t want to hurt me. He’s going to tell me all about the human world, answer all my questions about being on land,” you fight back, standing up for yourself.
“Pffft. Gods, you’re delusional. You’re going to risk everything!” Cleo shouts as her blaring voice booms through the water. You gasp at the force of her words.
“I’m not though…” you say quietly, biting your lip to soothe the guilt inside your stomach. Maybe you are risking it all, but he wouldn’t hurt you. Would he?
“You forget your place in this family,” Marissa snarls bitterly. “Do you remember what happened to Stacia? Remember how she was so sure she found a nice human man? Remember how he dragged a knife through her heart and left her to bleed out on the ocean floor!” The pain in her voice is stifling as you cringe against her rough accusations.
Stacia. Of course you remembered. You remembered how heart broken your mother and father were, remembered him banishing any of his people from ever speaking to humans again. Now all they did was sing their siren songs to sailors while drowning them in the water which you were supposed to be a part of, too…
“Of course I remember! But Joel, he’d never do that…” you say quietly, trying your best not to shed a tear at how furious you are.
“Go on then. We won’t wait up for you,” Marissa says sharply as her and Cleo turn and swim back to the palace.
You sigh and swim the opposite way of them, feeling Scar follow behind as a large shadow takes form over your body. You can already feel Scar’s judgement wearing down on you, can feel the warning that lies in his big eyes.
“Scar, don’t make me feel anymore guilty than I already do,” you sigh out, carrying your body through the crystal clear water as you pass another school of colorful fish. “I know what I’m doing,” you press. He just rolls his eyes and continues following you, watching over you just like you did for him that cold, dark day years ago.
You continue swimming through the blue water as you flip through small rock tunnels and coast along the sandy bottom. You’re so close to your cave full of treasures that you can practically feel your collected items start to hum. Or wait, did you actually hear a buzzing sound?
You dive down further, dodging floating kelp and going into darker regions like places you shouldn’t be going. The water becomes colder, more frigid as you pass in between a rock formation. One that Scar won’t be able to fit through.
You look up at him swimming close by and you can hear his warning words come deep from within him. “Don’t go places where I can’t protect you. You know what lies beneath this area,” he warns as his large tail swishes back and forth, making circles in the water.
“Just give me a second. I hear something. Be right back,” you promise as you push your way through the narrow surface of crowded rocks.
You slide against the rocky terrain and follow the buzzing noise. It seems to reverberate off the rocks, making its way all the way down into your bones. The humming seems to ring in your ears, making its way all the way down to your fast beating heart.
Thump, thump, thump.
You can hear it, can feel it all the way down to your shiny fins. Whatever it is is calling to you, yelling your name as it echoes off the jagged rocks. You can hear Scar slashing against the water, but you keep going. You have to find out what it is.
The narrow rocks form into a wide open area that’s dark and cold, no other fish or coral reefs around this area. It’s a place you shouldn’t be. Before you can turn back around, you hear the humming noise pick up. It burns your ears as white noise takes hold of you, and when you look down is when you see something shiny sitting underneath a long grey rock.
You swim to the bottom of the dark area and brush away the sand that covers the hidden object. When you get ahold of what’s been humming and bring it back into the light, you freeze. What’s now in your hand is a long golden chain that holds the most beautiful clam shell you’ve ever seen before. Soft, creamy orange colors turn to purple and iridescent pink colors as you feel along every crevice of the shell. It’s unique, unlike any you had found before, and now it’s yours.
When you turn around to go show Scar what you have found, you’re stopped in place, unable to move as a long, slimy eel stands in your way of your only exit out of here. You gasp as your eyes go wide, remembering the warning your father had given you earlier.
Don’t talk to the eels, they only want to trick us.
“Well, well, well. So, someone finally found the magic necklace,” she says as she flashes you a sly smirk.
“Magic necklace?” you ask confused as you look back over the shiny shell. It didn’t look magical, not that you could see.
“My dear girl, that there is no ordinary necklace. It only shows itself to those who are worthy, to those pure of heart, to those desperate for something more,” she teases as she slithers around you with her cold, slimy tail.
You knit your eyebrows together and hold it tighter in your hand. “But what does it do? What makes it magical?” you ask conflicted. You shouldn’t be talking to an eel, shouldn’t even be here alone. But yet you stay, unable to leave as you need answers now.
“You long for legs, don’t you?” she smirks as a small laugh echoes around the dark water as you stare into the light that shines from behind the narrow rock formation.
“What makes you say that?” you ask sharply, not wanting to give your intentions away with Joel.
“It’s obvious, dear. That necklace there is a powerful thing. Put it on and you are free to go on land, have legs, explore the human world as if you were a human yourself.”
“What?” you gasp as you feel your eyes widen more.
“Yes, child. Put it on and you’ll never have to worry about being stuck with a tail again. Unless that’s what you want. You’d be free to take it off anytime and return to the sea. It’s up to you, but looks like it’s yours now.”
A low snicker cackles from her sharp teeth and her eyes glow a tinted yellow. Something malicious and evil sits in her voice, and you know something isn’t right. It’s almost like she is tricking you.
“You’re tricking me!” you accuse, voice higher as you shout your accusations.
“Oh, but I’m not. Don’t you trust me?” she laughs as she rubs up against your arm and swirls her tail against the back of your neck. You squirm at her cold touch.
“My father told me not to trust your kind,” you say carefully.
The eel spits in your direction. “Your father is a fool, child. I’m not lying to you when I say that necklace does just that. It’s an old, ancient magic. One so strong that it was kept in a tiny vessel and hidden away many years ago. You keep it safe, and it’s yours. Don’t let anyone take it from you because in the wrong hands it could be very, very dangerous,” she warns as she stalks around you slowly, her flashy eyes staring into yours like a hunter watching its prey.
You examine the necklace in your palm, watching the shiny shell glisten around your hold. The colors seem to swirl like a rainbow, the golden chain calling you to put it on. And you want to, you want to so bad. Human legs? Could you really go on land at your own free will without any consequences? No. There had to be consequences, there had to be something.
“What’s the catch?” you ask nervously, eye darting back to the slimy eel in front of you.
“The catch? Oh, yes. The catch,” she smiles a devious smirk your way that screams danger. This is dangerous, she is dangerous. “The catch is, don’t let it get broken or taken. For if you take it off on land, you have two days to make it back to the ocean.”
“What happens if I don’t make it back in time?” you ask slowly, your voice as quiet as a sea urchin.
“You die,” she warns as your pupils expand into pure terror. “Basically, you’ll turn back into a mermaid and suffocate to death. Your body will turn to dust, and you’ll be left with nothing but a mere breeze carried out to sea.”
“Oh.” You have no words, nothing to say except is this really what you want? To risk your own safety for a human?
“Well, go on now. Put it on, child,” she coaxes, her grimy teeth snarling up at you like a trickster would.
You slowly look at the necklace, turning it over as you think and think and think. Joel. The human world. So many things you want to see. Before you really think it through, you unclasp the latch and throw it around your neck, clipping the clasp into place as the glistening shell sits just above your breasts. This is it. This is what you always wanted. Right?
The eel laughs sadistically, curling her tail along your wrist as she brushes past you back into the dark shadows. “Remember, two days. Be careful out there, child. You never know who you might run into…”
With that, she disappears into the dark depths of a cave, and you waste no time as you swim free of your confined area. You push your way through the narrow, rocky opening and meet scar on the other side. You see him eye your new flashy jewelry and see the way he looks at you as if you had done something bad.
You grip it tight and try to take his focus off it. “It’s nothing, Scar. Just something I found under a rock. It’s nothing to worry about.”
You see him brush past you as he swims ahead of you, and you follow silently. You can already feel the judgement coming off his large body. Maybe you shouldn’t have taken it, maybe this was too risky, but you did. You did. No going back now.
You swim ahead of Scar, pushing your shimmery tail as fast as you can possibly go. You brush up against silky kelp beds, making bubbles swirl up to the surface like a whirlwind. You keep swimming and swimming and swimming until you’re there. Back at the boat. Back at his boat.
Pushing free to the surface, you feel the sunlight rain down on you as bursts of warmth hit your bare shoulders, letting the salt water drip down your radiant face as you slowly slip closer to the grand boat. The water is calm, the boat gently rocking side to side as you watch the sails slowly sway in the warm breeze.
You swim closer, keeping your head down as you circle one side of the boat. You see a crew of men shuffling their way back and forth on the deck, watching the way the men shout to each other as they work. One man with a blue bandanna across his matted hair is untangling a large fishing net, another is scrubbing the deck with an object you don’t know the name of. There’s no sign of Joel though.
You sulk on the surface and slap the edge of the water with your palm as you pout your bottom lip out. One look. You just wanted to see his beautiful face once until you could see him tonight. You slowly turn the other way, about to head back underwater, when suddenly you hear a high pitched whistle from the deck. You turn and freeze, your eyebrows knitting together as you see one of the men staring at you in awe.
Oh no. No, no, no. They weren’t supposed to see you.
He’s still staring at you, eyes wide and mouth hanging open as you hear him call out to the other men on the ship. You sink down into the water, dropping into the dark shadows as you stay still, afraid you’ll be seen again.
You weren’t supposed to go out until tonight. Why didn’t you just wait?
After a few minutes pass, you slip out of the shadows and swim back close to the surface, making sure not to stick your head out of the water. Scar swims past you with a warning, and you turn your head to tell him you’re okay.
“Everything’s fine, Scar. I think it’s safe now. I think…”
Before you can finish your sentence, something rough and jagged falls on top of you. You try to swim away, but your tail gets tangled up and caught in something you can’t quite get out of. As you look back at what it is, your heart drops out of your chest. A net.
“Scar!” you scream, cries of bloody murder reaching the deep depths of the water.
No, no, no. This can’t be happening. Joel wouldn’t hurt you. Would he?
The more you try to squirm, the more your tail gets twisted in the bindings. The net starts to reel you in, taking you up further to the surface. Scar tries to desperately get you out, but the netting only rubs up against his rough skin.
“Go on, I don’t want them to hurt you,” you say sadly to your friend. His big black eyes stare at you, but he silently agrees.
“And don’t tell father or my sisters, please. I’ll find a way back. This won’t be the end,” you promise.
You watch Scar swim off in a hurry, muttering words under his breath as he heads further beneath the darkness. You really hope he’ll keep his word and not tell your father. He’d kill every single man on this boat, including Joel.
As the net pulls you up further, you toss and turn. You lash at the bindings, but it only makes it tighter around your body. Your shimmery scales on your fins feel like they’re about to be pulled off the harder you fight.
Anxiety starts to take over, you feel like you’re suffocating underwater as you’re pulled to the surface. Your entire body feels like it’s on fire as the harsh net tears into your skin. You let out a blood curdling scream as the net scratches at your arm, forming a large gash as crimson blood starts seeping out.
You’re going to die, you’re never going to see your family again. Why the fuck did you put your faith in a human? Why?!
Joel hears the horrifying screams and sees his men hauling up the large, heavy net. Cold seaweed filled water starts dripping over the side of the wooden deck as the flash of a sparkly pink tail comes into clear focus.
Joel goes wide-eyed, dropping his golden telescope to the floor as he screams and runs to his crew. “What the fuck are you doing!” His voice is panicked, his heart pounding in his chest as he takes in your terrified face. He’s afraid they’ll kill you.
“Catching a mermaid, cap’n!” Jasper laughs out as he helps haul up his precious treasure. “Told ya mermaids were real, didn’t I?”
Joel’s shocked, his boots frozen to the sea clad wood as his mind races. Without thinking, he runs over to the men and starts pushing them out of the way as the net comes crashing down to the deck. Salt water spills over the edges as you shiver in fright, horror written all over your beautiful face.
Your necklace seems to burn hot against your chest as the orange color glows brightly under the sunlight. You look down at your perfect tail and see the sparkly scales start to shed as the tail starts to evaporate. You stare in horror as your tail splits in two, forming smooth legs in its place.
Suddenly you realize you’re naked as the men stare in hunger, their mouths drooling as they take in your curves. You hug your knees to your chest to try to pry their eyes away. Cold. You feel so cold, so scared as the men surround you like starving hounds. You want to go home. You want to go home. This was a mistake, a huge mistake. They’ll hurt you. They’ll hurt you.
Joel pushes the men out of the way and starts peeling off his white button-up shirt as his worried look encases all of his features. He bends down to your level and wraps the shirt around you to cover your exposed body up.
“Can you guys back up? For the love of God, give her some air! Christ,” he yells out annoyed as he looks back at you with wide eyes, his calloused hand brushing the side of your cheek as you push back out of his reach.
“Hey, hey. It’s okay. I’m not gonna hurt ya,” he responds as he puts his hands in the air as if to show he’s harmless. Your body relaxes a little, but you still don’t fully trust him.
“A mermaid, cap’n! What happened to her tail?” a man with shaggy hair hanging over his slumped shoulders and dirty brown shirts yells appalled.
“Didn’t know mermaids could come on land with legs. What sorcery is that?” another rugged pirate asks as he untangles the rough net they used to catch you.
You cover your ears and sink your knees deep into your chest as you hide your face from view. You want to go back home, get away from all the noise of prying eyes and raspy voices. You regret coming to shore, you regret it all, you shouldn’t have come because you trusted a human. How could you have been so stupid?
“Silence!” Joel yells as he bends down to your level and cups your chin as he raises your head to face him. You shiver, your body sinking into itself as you shake from the cold air and damp shirt.
“Hey, it’s alright, sweetheart. Nobody’s gonna hurt ya.”
His calloused fingers linger under your chin, dragging along your smooth skin as you stare into honey flecked eyes. You try to look away, but you can’t escape those eyes. Those beautiful orbs made of light and dark brown flecks mixing together to make the prettiest shade of brown eyes you’ve ever seen in your entire life. Those alone tell you he’s safe, he won’t hurt you.
Safe. He’s safe.
Your eyes travel down his glistening tan, salt water coated skin as you take in how broad he is. Flexed biceps and spidery veins skating down his entire arms. He’s so handsome.
Suddenly, he’s gripping at your wrist. “Your arm. It’s bleeding,” he says with a rushed breath as he scans the large cut on your forearm. “C’mon, let’s go clean that up. Can you stand?” he asks as he reaches out a large hand.
You take a minute to weigh your options. You can either stay in the presence of the grimy pirates, or you can go with Joel where it’s quiet. You choose Joel. When you lift yourself up with your arms and try to take a step forward, your legs start to shake and your knees cave in. You almost go tumbling to the deck until strong arms catch you before you hit the hard floor.
“Whoa, slow down there. Here, let me help you.” Joel picks you up and cradles you in his arms as he starts to walk toward the stairs that’ll lead him beneath the boat.
“Get back. Give her some air,” Joel growls as his men start to part the sea, dirty bodies backing up to make way for Joel to get through.
You unknowingly sink into his warm chest, hiding your face in the crook of his neck so you won’t have to see their wandering gazes to your barely covered body. Joel pulls you tighter against his chest as he feels your discomfort.
“I got ya, sweetheart. It’s alright, they’re not gonna hurt ya. I promise,” he says against the shell of your ear, and somehow you believe him. He’s not lying to you. Why would he?
He takes you down some wooden steps and back into a large room. You slowly peek up from his chest and take a look around the room. Light shines through the little portholes of the boat. A couple of glowing lamps hang from the wooden walls as a table covered by maps and compasses lays in the middle of the room. A small bed with crisp white sheets sits in the left corner of the room, and pictures of the ocean and secluded islands line the walls. It’s very… cozy in here.
“Is this your room?” you ask as your eyes scan the small area. It has to be his room, it just screams Joel.
“Mhm. It’s where I come to sleep and scan out maps when I’m on the boat. I live just up the coast, but I spend so much time out on the water that I needed my own little space. A place where my crew wouldn’t bother me,” he chuckles out as he carefully sets you down in a wooden chair.
“Do they just sleep upstairs?”
“No,” he laughs as he shakes his head, “They have their own little quarters down on the opposite side of the boat. Didn’t need them wakin’ me up with their snoring and drunken nonsense.”
You laugh as you see a smile curl around his soft lips and a dimple forms in the center of his cheek. You swear he’s the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen. So strong yet so soft. You get so caught up in his charm that you almost forget you’re shaking and your arm is bleeding.
“You cold, sweetheart?” he asks softly as he grabs a couple of fluffy towels and a first aid kit from the other side of the room.
“Just a little,” you say with chattering teeth as his white button-up shirt barely grazes the bottom of your thighs. You’re very aware now that you’re almost naked in front of him which gives you a weird fluttering sensation in your low stomach that you’ve never felt before. How strange.
“Here ya go. Maybe this’ll help.” He throws a soft white towel over your shoulders, and you wrap it around yourself as it brings you a little comfort and warmth. “Better?”
“Better,” you confirm with the nod of your head.
“Good, that’s good. Now let’s take a look at that arm.”
He rolls the cotton sleeve up slowly and reaches for something that’s in a clear bottle. As he unscrews it, he says, “Now this might sting a bit.”
When he pours some of the liquid onto the cut, you flinch and try to pry your arm away, but he holds tight to it. “Hey, hey, hey. It’s alright, the worst part is over,” he reassures as he presses a towel into the wound and rests a hand gently on your knee. The sudden shift of his softness makes you stop flinching and makes you look down at him.
His soft brown eyes threaten to swallow you whole, his crooked smile could calm raging hurricanes with how beautiful it shines around the room. Like the sunlight beaming through the waters of Capri, all crystal like and calming.
He watches you closely as he wraps your cut up with some kind of material you don’t know the name of. His touch is so delicate, so soft as he takes the proper care to make sure you’re not hurting anymore.
Warm. He’s so warm. So very gentle. And you see yourself falling for him even more now.
“There ya go. All bandaged up. We can probably take this off tomorrow, but just want to make sure it doesn’t get infected.”
“Thank you,” you say quietly as your fingers trail along the clothed material that covers your wound.
“It was nothin’, don’t even mention it. It’s the least I can do for my stupid men catchin’ you in that net. I’m really sorry for that, I had no idea. Those men had no right and I’m gonna give them hell about it the rest of the week and…”
You silence him as you reach your shaky arm out and cup the side of his jaw as your thumb trails along the lines of his dark, patchy scruff. His eyes widen as he looks up at you under the fringe of his dark eyelashes. His full attention is on you now.
“Joel, it’s okay. I know now you didn’t mean to harm me. You don’t have to apologize for them. It wasn’t your doing.”
“Yeah, but still. They could’ve harmed you even more if I wasn’t there. They could’ve…”
“Joel.” Your calming voice stops him again as the panic seems to leave his eyes for good. “It’s okay, really.”
Joel looks unsure of himself but nods his head anyway. His calloused fingers still graze along your knee as the contact of his skin on yours seems to send a fire down your legs.
Legs. That’s right, you have legs now. Joel’s eyes look down at your long, smooth legs as he takes them in slowly, his eyes shifting back up to yours as one of his hands slide down one of your calves cautiously. Your breathing hitches at the feel of his calloused fingers on your skin.
“How is this possible? Your legs, I mean. I didn’t know mermaids could exist out of the water,” he says with the expression of surprise written all over his tan face.
“With this,” you say as you hold up the iridescent shell necklace around your neck, watching the way the pink and orange colors shine around the room from the glow of the outside sun. “It’s a magic necklace I found. As long as I wear this, I’ll have human legs. I’m free to take it off whenever to go back to sea, but I have to wear it on land to be able to survive outside the water.”
Joel reaches up and cups the shell in his hand, tracing the crevices of the shell with his thumb as his brows knit together to take in everything you just said. He looks starstruck, not believing his own eyes as he sets it back down to your chest.
“Magic necklace, huh? Mermaids? This is all unbelievable,” he chuckles as he shakes his head. “I can’t believe I met a mermaid this week, and now you have legs? Christ,” he murmurs as he stands up and starts pacing back and forth in front of you while his right hand rakes through his thick scruff.
“Is that bad?” you ask cautiously, afraid he’ll leave at any second and leave you here all alone.
He stops pacing and comes back over to you. He bends back down on one knee and gently cups your face as you gasp out in surprise. The touch of his hand is so warm, so soothing. You want to stay like this forever.
“No, sweetheart. S’not bad. It’s just… how is it that I met the most beautiful mermaid and got you on my boat now? It’s almost like it’s…”
“Fate?” you answer for him, your eyes sinking into his light honey eyes that seem to set your soul on fire.
“Exactly that. Fate.” He repeats as he looks closely into your eyes.
His thumb traces over your bottom lip as his brown eyes flick to your mouth. He looks like he wants to kiss you, looks like he wants to devour you with his plush lips that call to you like one of your siren songs. He’s so close, so very close as he grazes his thumb gently back and forth.
Before you can react, he gets up off his knee and holds out his hands to you. “Can you walk?” he asks as he reaches out to you.
“I don’t know…” you answer quietly as you shift your feet beneath you.
“C’mere. I’ll help you. I won’t let you fall, promise.”
You nod and take one more look at your new legs before you grab his hands and lift yourself up. Your legs shake beneath you, but Joel has a strong grip on you.
“Alright now. Take a few steps for me, walk towards me,” he instructs as you listen to his words. You take one, two, three steps as your feet start to get a hold of how to move on their own. Your legs feel more firm underneath you the more steps you take. Joel leads you around the whole living corridors as you take one hand off him.
“There ya go, sweetheart. Doin’ so good. Now try without me. Go on.” He slips his other hand from you and watches as you take the next few steps over to him without any help. Your legs feel stronger, more powerful with each step you take. It’s not so hard after all.
“I think I’ve got it!”
“Yeah, think ya do, sweetheart.” He crosses his arms and leans against the hollow table as the warm brown flecks in his eyes seer into yours like two stones being melded into one.
You smile up at him shyly and then come across the maps splayed all across the table in a heap. Your fingers trail along the sheets of paper as you take in all the different markings on the maps. Red circles, black lines, words sprawled in different locations on the maps. It looks like he was studying them closely.
“Are these yours?” you ask curiously as he circles around and comes up next to you.
“Yeah, these are all mine,” he answers as he twists one of the colorful maps around.
“What are you looking for?” you ask wondrously as you scan along a long line next to the shoreline.
“Well, there was a shipwreck many years ago that happened around this area. There’s said to be some rare treasures hidden around this location from the wreck. I’ve been trying to find it for a year now, but no such luck. There’s other areas I could be searching, but this one just piqued my interest. So I haven’t given up.”
Your brows furrow together as you study one of the maps, letting your mind wander into far off places. “Maybe I could help you.”
His eyes go wide as his mouth drops open. “You’d help me?”
“Why not? I know these waters better than anyone. And treasure? It’s one of my favorite things to find. I’m always collecting what I can from shipwrecks that people don’t even know about.”
“Really?” he asks incredulously as stares at you in wonder, like you’re a goddess from another world.
“Really,” you giggle as you face back towards him, “but only if you show me your world, too.”
His eyes fade into a warm honeysuckle brown as his lips relax into a crooked smile. “Deal.”
As your eyes fade back down to the marked up maps, he starts to tell you something else. “Ya know, I have a whole room back at home full of treasures I’ve collected over the years. In fact, I have an entire library full of artifacts and books you’d probably love.”
Your eyes shoot up in a frenzy as your mouth drops open. “You do?”
“Mhm. Ya know, I was plannin’ to go back home for a few days tomorrow. Would you… would you want to come back with me? I could show you around the land. Could show you around my place. Could show you anythin’ you wanted to see.”
Your eyes gaze into his as his hand slowly grazes over yours, and you swear you see stars in his eyes. “I’d show you the whole world, gorgeous.” He grabs your hand and brushes his lips over the back of your knuckles, and you about drop to your knees right there.
Charming. He’s so charming.
“Yes,” you whisper out, your voice deceiving you as you shake your head out of the love sick trance you’re under. “I’d love to see it with you.”
He nods his head and settles it. “Alright then. It’s a deal.”
He drops your hand back to the table, and he spends hours after that showing you all his maps, telling you all about his adventures on the water, and you just soak in every bit of him that you can.
By the time the sun goes down and the lanterns light up the dim area, you’re yawning and trying hard not to fall asleep. Throughout all the events of the day, it’s just about knocked you completely out.
“Here, why don’t you take my bed tonight? You look exhausted.”
You shake your head and try to refuse. “No, no. I couldn’t possibly take your bed.”
Joel places a hand gently on your bicep and lingers there. “Please, just take it. I have a small cot in the corner I can dig out. I’m alright, you take the bed tonight. Please.”
His calloused fingers linger on your arm, and you feel the heat all the way through the cotton shirt as it simmers down into your blood like hot lava filling your lungs. You take another look at his lips that hang just inches from yours and whisper out quietly, “Okay.”
He drops his hand from your arm and grabs a clean t-shirt from his small cedar closest. “Here, put this on. I'm sure you want something more comfortable to sleep in. I’ll get you some real clothes tomorrow. There’s so many dresses I think you’d love, I’ll pick some up tomorrow,” he confirms as he holds out his hand for you to take the white cotton t-shirt.
Your hand grazes his, and you can’t help but always gasp when his skin comes in contact with yours. It feels electric, like you were made to touch him. You take the shirt from him and he turns around and walks to the other end of the room. “Go on now. I won’t peek. Just want ya in somethin’ more dry.”
Your eyes flick to him, and he keeps his word. You quickly unbutton the long sleeved shirt and drop it to the floor. When the shirt hits the ground, you see Joel fighting with himself to not take a quick peek at your body. You hang there for just a second gazing across at him. You watch the way his strong back muscles flex as his jaw clenches up, his fist flexing at his side as he fights to keep himself composed.
You almost wish he’d turn around because there’s a weird sensation between your thighs that you can’t quite pinpoint. Strange. He makes you feel so strange. So alive. It’s just so weird.
You avert your eyes from Joel and slide the cotton shirt over your head as it grazes your thighs. You climb into bed and feel just how comfortable the soft sheets and white blankets feel on your skin. This might even be more comfortable than your shiny clam shell bed back under the sea.
“Alright, I’m dressed,” you confirm as he slowly turns around and walks over to you as his boots scuff across the wooden floor.
“Is it warm enough for ya? You comfortable enough?” he asks as his hands come to rest on the side of the bed.
“Mhm. It’s perfect,” you yawn as you turn to the left to get a better view of his sun tanned face.
“Good. Well, get some sleep, sweetheart. Got a busy day tomorrow.”
He trails his fingers over your jawline as he runs the pad of his thumb over your cheekbone slowly. Your breath hitches in your throat as he so carefully grazes it down to your bottom lip again. You really think he’ll kiss you this time, but he crushes those hopes as soon as he drops his fingers from your face.
“Let me know if you need anythin’, sweetheart. I’ll be right here.”
You sigh and watch him set up his little cot in the corner of the opposite side of the room, wishing he was in the bed with you instead. As he sits down after it’s set up, you start to close your eyes as the last few words leave your lips before darkness takes over. “Goodnight, Joel.”
“Goodnight, my little mermaid.”
And then you fade into the darkness.
Joel stays up for the next hour just watching you sleep. He watches the way your hair falls over your shoulders as you hug the cotton pillow to your cheek. He watches the way your chest rises and falls softly when you sleep. He notices the long eyelashes that kiss your skin as a small smile creeps over his lips. He thinks you’re so beautiful, so perfect. He knows he’s falling fast, he knows he should be more careful, but with you he doesn’t want to be cautious. He wants to dive in head first and drown in your saltwater coated skin. He wants to be the one. He wants to be your only one. And he will be. He will.

A Taste of Heaven*
Characters: Original character Tani, Dad!Jake, Tonowari (made him a widow again lol)
Synopsis: During the celebration of Aonung’s Iknimaya Tonowari and Jake get drunk, and talk about how lucky he is to have a mate like you, Tonowari tells Jake how he’s missed the touch of a woman since his mate died, and Jake gets an idea
Warnings: smut, dirty talk, aggressive behavior while drunk, complete loss of inhibitions lol 18+ only!
Word Count: 2k
Your people have suffered more loss than you could even physically fathom, the pain in your chest heavy like stones. When you and your family arrived at Awa’atlu seeking Uturu, your mate Toruk Makto left behind his old life. You all had. No longer at war, you knew your sacrifices were to keep your children safe. Several months had gone by since your arrival and you found your kids adjusting better than you could’ve imagined. Neteyam and Lo’ak became excellent free divers and hunters of the reef, Tuk and Kiri free diving took a liking to Ilus and began training young Metkayina children how to bond with the animals. You being a mighty warrior yourself took a liking to spears and tridents although struggling at first, you got the hang of these foreign weapons. As the tsakarem of your own clan you were in tune with healing practices and naturally thrived among the new clan, weaving baskets, collecting shells, making medicinal herbs and healing the wounded. Your mate Jake spent most of his time with the Metkayina Olo’eyktan, Tonowari. Learning the hunting ways of the tribe. You and Jake spent most of your nights with your children in the maruis after long days of training and earning your keep.
The day came for celebrating Ao’nung’s rite of passages being completed, his place among the people being solidified as a true man. The preparations for tonight all distributed among members of the tribe, yourself and husband included. You spent your day picking fruits, and collecting seafare for tonight’s feast. Excitement burns in your belly knowing youre wearing your special festival outfit you spent time working on with the chief’s daughter. You and Jake haven’t had much time by yourself since your arrival, tonight would be a time to celebrate, relax and enjoy the festivities of the evening. The children already off with the new friends they made, had your tent feeling empty. You anticipated Jake’s arrival after his day of preparations, butterflies rising in your stomach. You finish the final touches of your shell adorned outfit, turning in the mirror gazing at your taunt figure. You smile to yourself knowing you hand crafted everything from the sea pearls, beautiful abalone, sea moss, and blue cloth. Your ears perk up at the sound of your tent flap opening, head whipping to the source. Your mate entering the tent smiles at your appearance. “Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” He says putting his hunting gear down. You chuckle at his flirtation and make your way over to your husband. You wrap your arms around him and kiss his lips passionately. “Hi Paskalin honey.” You whisper in a smile. Your tail flicks with contentment, Jake’s whipping your thigh. He turns to wash up from the day to your table, as you assist him. “I like that outfit, did you make it?” He says taking a cloth into the bucket of water. You observe your mate cleaning himself as you nod lightly. “Yes, I spent several months on it with Tsireya for this night.” As he finishes cleaning his skin, he smiles at you lightly. Appreciating the rare moment you two have alone together. “Jake, I made you something as well.” You announce. You make your way to your bowl of belongings pulling the shell necklace you spent making for him. You bring it to his face, as he grins with pride. “It’s beautiful, just like you.” You giggle at his compliment walking to his back to put the necklace on, moving his locs. “There, now we both look like we fit in here.” You speak softly. He turns his head to you, embracing the now comfortable silence. With eclipse approaching, the celebration is coming soon. He brings his thumb to your jaw stroking it gently, closing the space between you two. Your lips slowly touch, melting into each other. This is the first time he’s kissed you since your arrival at the reef village. Your intimate moment suddenly broken with the sudden opening of the tent flap. “Hey mom have you seen my-Oh!” Neteyam immediately sees the moment he interrupted. You and Jake break the kiss, whipping to your son. Jake chuckles at the sick joke he calls parenthood as you laugh with him, squeezing his arm. “What is it my son?” As you walk to your eldest.
With the celebration now in full swing you sit among the beach, the cool air lightly caressing your skin, torches along the sand with a buffet of food that you helped gather. Exotic fruits, seafood, grilled banana leaves stuffed with rice and fish, fermented juice. All celebrating the chief’s son. You sit with your mate as you watch your children dance with the people now adapting to the dance of such a celebration. With several cups of alcohol flowing in your veins you feel warmth radiating through your body. You lean to your husband as the music vibrates through the sand. Suddenly being pulled off your feet, Tsireya beckons you to do. “Tanywral, you must! It is the way!” She giggles. Who are you to say no to the chief’s daughter? You awkwardly move to the crowd of people moving their bodies fluid like ocean water. Your own moves still not quite perfected, but none the less your body finds the rhythm of the drums and horns weaving into the air. Jake watches you attentively, as your hips sway to the beat of the music. You roll your head back, arms spinning in the air. Your laughter fills his ears like the sweetest song. His loincloth tightening at the sight of his enticing mate. Suddenly he sees Tonowari sit beside him on the log. He sighs a breathy sigh taking a sip from his own drink. “What’s that sigh for?” He inquires to his good friend. Tonowari turns to Jake, “Just a few moon cycles ago, we were celebrating the return of the Tulkun. My mate being among us. This is just an adjustment that’s all.” Jake feels sorry for the chief. Not understanding the unbearable pain of losing a mate, he does empathize for this man. “I’m sorry. I can’t imagine.” He responds to the chief. Tonowari sighs, “Keep your mate close, appreciate her, even when you disagree, always understand how lucky you are to be blessed with such a union, and beautiful woman.” He speaks softly staring right at your moving body. Jake looks to where Tonowari’s gaze is locked to you dancing in the crowd. At first jealously pools in his stomach, then a fleeting thought enters his mind, treading along a borderline insane idea. With alcohol flowing through his veins, he lets the fermented juice do the talking. “You know, Tanywral and I haven’t had anytime to even be intimate since we got here.” Tonowari’s ears immediately perk up with intrigue. “Can’t seem to get a damn moment of peace and quiet these days.” He chuckles. Tonowari looks to you, then to Jake again. Is he? Is he taunting me? He thinks to himself. Jake senses Tonowari’s curiosity and continues, “Sometimes I think we need something to spice it up.” Your dancing figure comes into line of sight running to Jake. Breathlessly, you lean over the two men realizing you’re interrupting a private conversation, “Jake! I-oh!” You bring your hand to cover your laugh. “Sorry I didn’t realize I was interrupting something.” Jake smiles at your drunk state, “It’s okay princess, Tonowari and I were just talking about how lucky I am to have you as my mate.” Your cheeks immediately flush with his boldness. You look to Jake, then Tonowari who’s reaction you can’t read. “Oh is that so? Tonowari what do you think about me?” You say cooing to him. His eyes light up with shock, now flustered with your cheekiness. “I- was explaining to Jake the importance of savoring one’s mate.” He says chest now heaving with tension. You look to Jake, sharing a silent agreement. “Maybe, I can show you how to savor that, ‘Wari, would you like that?” Is she being serious, this cannot be. He thinks in shock.
He slowly turns his head to Jake, with eyes hooded with lust, practically salivating over his mate. You bring your hand to Tonowari’s flushed cheek, “Wari bring us somewhere private where we can be together.” His eyes now wide in shock, he looks to where his people are singing and dancing oblivious, all drunk on the fermented juice like you three. He lets his liquid courage guide his actions. Slowly rising up, he nods, and leads the way to the mangrove forest. You and Jake’s hands intertwined walking in happy drunken strides following your leader. Eyes and body heavy with lust your belly burns with passion. Tonowari leads you to a forest clearing with moss and lush grass lit by the moonlight. Jake brings you close to him, crashing his lips to yours passionately. With you moaning into his mouth, Tonowari stares at the two of you igniting a fire within him. You break your kiss, slowly turning to the tall teal man. You reach out to him, his hand intertwining with yours. Your soft smile melting him to his core. “Wari let me make you feel good. We can make you feel again. Would you like that?” You whisper in his ear. Shivers sent down to his spine he feels his loincloth tighten with excitement. You chuckle at his reaction. “I would, my flower.” He breathlessly replies. Jake nods to him, ensuring he’s on board. Then you slowly bring your lips to his, causing a light moan to escape his mouth. You bring your hands to cup his strong pecs, feeling his body as he brings himself closer to you. You slip your tongue into his mouth as you lower your hands to the string of his loincloth. Jake circles in behind you rubbing his hands on your hips. You hips buck into Tonowari’s from the sensation of being touched by two men at once. Tonowari’s hands find their way to your breasts lightly massaging them, as you release a moan into his mouth. Your hands hastily work to untie his strings, as the material falls to the forest floor. His throbbing cock springs out slapping his toned stomach leaving a small mark of precum on his glistening skin. You gasp at the size. Jake was more than able to satisfy you with your needs and then some, being at about 14 inches himself, but where Jake exceeded in length Tonowari was making up for in sheer girth. He stood proud at at least 16 inches. You feel your mouth begin to salivate, as his eyes bore into your stare. He nervously chuckles, before bucking his hips into you, seeking friction. You bend down into the grass, bringing your face to his throbbing length. Slowly taking his cock in your mouth adjusting to the size, you wrap your tongue around the length, causing a loud moan to escape the hulking man. You bring your hands to his cock and begin caressing his member, watching his pulsating balls twitch at contact.
Your mate’s hands caress your braids softly as you bring pleasure to the chief. “Such a good girl.” You hear Jake coo. Your pace quickening around Tonowari’s cock, as his chest tightens with pleasure. You bring yourself to suck hard around his swollen mushroom tip causing a loud whimper from him, “Ah! My petal, if you keep that up I will not last long.” His eyes fluttering to compose himself. You chuckle at his excitement. “Sorry, Tonowari, tell me how you want me then.” His ears perk up, “how I want you?” He inquires. Jake laughs as he brings you up to face both of them, rubbing circles on your shoulders. Your hands now wrapping around Tonowari’s neck, “yes tell me how I can make you feel good. Tonight is about you mighty warrior.” Your hooded eyes boring into his soul. His primal arousal now guiding his thoughts, he growls into you and scoops you up, causing a gasp to escape your mouth. Jake watches with desire, as he begins undoing his own strings to his loincloth. Tonowari brings you to a tree, head making contact with the trunk with a thump. His strong hands begin to untie your loincloth, as you lift you hips up for easier removal. The material falls to the floor revealing your glistening pussy. A sight he swears is going to end him. His nostrils filled with your sweet nectar. “Oh, princess I am going to devour you.”
I wrote this months ago while I was drunk and just left it with a cliffhanger, which is super annoying. should I do a part 2 and get the good stuff? Let me know!

after a less than amicable divorce from your ex-husband, you throw your wedding ring into the ocean like you’ve seen all those dramatic female leads do in romantic movies, only to find the diamond band hanging on a loose chain around kokonoi’s neck months later upon an impromptu moment of reminiscence to visit the same pier.
despite learning that the alluring but cunning merman has a penchant for collecting shiny items humans discard near his home waters, you’re determined to let the ring sink to the bottom of the ocean for good. stubbornly turning up his nose at each well thought out reason you fire at him, kokonoi secretly hopes your failure to convince him will have you returning to the pier until his plan is brought to completion, unaware that the “bad man” you claim his newfound treasure holds unpleasant memories of is your past lover.
thinking the merman must have misunderstood you and is looking for a fair trade, you keep refusing his incredibly generous gifts — tiny dots of mother of pearl laying inside a shell; a comb carved from fishbone with a handle modelled after a large, foamy wave — until one day, brimming with frustration, he snaps at you why you aren’t responding to his courting proposals.
it seems in your pursuit to gain closure from your unsuccessful marriage, you’ve unintentionally scored yourself a mythical creature of the ocean vying to be your spouse. and, much to you’re shock, you’re not not interested.

Falling Star
Jamil X Gn!Reader
Trying a bit of a new writing style? Really wanted to write something for Jamil though so here we go! Heard it was @merotwst birthday so Happy Birthday! Hopefully this can bring a little light to your day! Even if I’m late! @cvlutos as well hope you enjoy!
Trigger Warnings: Past Injury, Mentions towards depression, and Blot
Word Count: 800+
“Come on henchmen! You’re slowing down..” the cat monster would meow out in disappointment of the other half.
“I’m coming don’t worry go on ahead I’ll meet you there Grim-“ what an anxious little cat monster for his human friend. It’s only been a few weeks since another student’s blot. A few injuries had ended up with you in this case. With a ankle brace around your left foot.
Along with the teasing that came with Ace saying you looked older because of that now. Mystery on how he ended up in a tree later that day hanging upside down with some bats bugging him. Whoever could have done that? Even Ace didn’t seem to remember but he didn’t tease you anymore about what happened.
It wouldn’t be the first time you’ve sustained an injury since arriving in the world of twisted wonderland. The blots were dangerous and choosing to stay there had left worry amongst some of the older students that treated you more like a sibling. Tsunataro especially seemed- more angry then normal when you two couldn’t go gargoyle watching because of the state of your leg.
Even with magic it was going to take time. Time to heal- perhaps that was on purpose of Agapi though. The school’s therapist. Sure it was an experience but now it was time for summer! The school gets a few months off but..considering there’s no home to go back. Along with Crowley being extremely unreliable, Kalim had invited you over to his place! One of his family’s summer homes that was barely used anymore. In the Sunshine Lands too! Pictures had been shared on Magicam before, it’s hot and has lots of beaches after all it’s so close to the Coral Sea!
“I’m hungry though Nyah..”
“Don’t worry about it too much Grim we can ea-“ the sound of another voice overpowering your own “Yuu-san!” Hues locking onto the colorfully dressed white haired man.
“Kalim!” He had originally said beforehand he wasn’t going to be here-
“Yuu-San! I decided I couldn’t leave you here especially during such an important part of the year so I just told my family that I would see them later on after the solstice!” the young man would come closer to you with a bright smile on his face that shone like pearls. “Oh and I brought Jamil too-!” Pointing his fingers towards the man clad in a loose red top and black shorts.
“Hello little star”
“Kalim you’re confusing the events. Yaldā Night is for the winter solstice and Tirgan is for the summer solstice.” The man would sigh and go back to braiding your hair. One’s that we’re similar to his own. Small yes but with detail and decorated with small tassels.
He had been at this for awhile now along with the rainbow colored bands that were around your wrist. Kalim insisted that Jamil was the one to make it special and help you out! Really Kalim- can’t seem to remember the holidays that are seen as important. Sometimes even needs a reminder for his own birthday.
Hues focused on watching the white haired male get distracted by something and running off to check what it was- probably a crab.
Jamil would let out a small chuckle close to the shell of your ear “I didn’t get to say it yet..but I’m glad you are here. Spending Tirgan with you is much more interesting since you don’t know a single thing about it” a teasing look in those dark hues of his.
“You should tell me more about it then..”
“Only if you tell me more about yourself, little star..”
The food was so good it might bring tears to your eyes!
Jamil’s cooking was on a whole new level if he wasn’t basically babysitting Kalim all the time then he should try and become a cook instead!
“Are you enjoying the Sholeh Zard? It’s my mother’s recipe she taught me it for today..”
“For today?”
“Like I said today..is a very important day for a lot of people, maybe it doesn’t seem like it but it’s just being with the people you care about and spending time with them”
that smile is as bright as the sun
“And I was happy to hear you’d be coming here for the break instead of staying back at the school alone-because you’ve done so much for others but the one thing you’ve convinced me to do- was take a break. Though I’ve yet to see you relax.”
He wasn’t wrong- you’re always running around. Doing task, getting hurt, overblots, trauma, overworked, and studying! It’s so much the weight is so much-
“So you can take this time-“ feeling a tug at your hand and being hoisted up onto your feet “to be yourself and allow me to carry the weight.”
For a moment it hurt the pressure on your foot but nothing could be as blissful compared to the next few motions dancing under the sun.
The bright star shining over two people celebrating where the darkness will only reach for a few hours. Where shadows can’t invade on the footsteps dancing in sand and sea.
For now everything can be forgotten, just being around each other for now can be enough.
Enough for the brightest star to witness while other stars watch on in amazement from their faraway places.
“I love you, little star”

I’m begging for some higher force to beam me to the sea so I can smell that fresh air too. I’m dreaming about it actually. 👀🫠
“Your memory comes back to you and that's when you realise — you’ve slept with Joel Miller. You know, dad’s best friend Joel Miller.” And I’m also dreaming about this too 😍🙏🏻
“ -a fair gap between your fingers and thumb as you try to wrap your hand around his girth, beads of precome starting to pearl as you brush your thumb over his tip.” Joel Miller and his big cock should be right here with me, when will it be my turn ???😵💫🥵
“You could just finish the job yourself, but why do that when you could have Joel do it instead.” Exactly why do it yourself when you can let it be done by Joel Fucking Miller 😍
Actually, Joel Miller is the first person I put in horny jail because it’s criminal how fucking hot that men is 🤗🫠
“Barely woken up and you’re already all needy, huh? S’what happens when you get fucked real good.” The little voice in my head is screaming. Of course we are needy for him what a question 😫😍
I don’t know if this is TMI but I watched some porn with thigh fucking and I don’t know, but that was so hot 🥵 And now this : “He moves your leg back into place, holding himself in the wet heat between your thighs and starts thrusting, the fat head of him just catching on your entrance but never pushing in.” I’m biting my pillow 🤗🤯
“Don’t wanna hear any complaints. You be good and come for me like this, then maybe I’ll give you what you want and fuck you nice ‘n hard later. Understand?” Yes sir I understood that nice and clear, fuckin hell I love him 😍
Not the dad almost walking in on them ohhhh no 😵💫
That would’ve been a very compromising position😅
“Never felt a pussy as drenched as this one. Bet I could slip right in her like it’s nothing.” So why don’t you just slip in Joeli do it nowwwww 🤭
It’s really so good how he’s rough and dominating throughout but then afterwards he’s like “are you ok?” That’s the kind of treatment I need 😊
“Dunno, I just like picking them up.” You take a pebble in hand, smoothing your fingers over its surface.” I used to do that in my childhood all the time wherever we were if I thought those were pretty stones and shells. I picked them up and I took them home. That was a nice little thing to do 🥹🥲
“You’re real trouble, sweetheart.” Of course, what else did he expect 😜😙
“Leaning in close behind you, he lowers his voice right into your ear, “You just wanted my hands on you.” I would do anything to have his hands on my body so I support playin some tricks to make it happen, besides he knew the second she asked him to put lotion on her what this was about🤭
“That feel good? Know my fingers are so much bigger than your own. Bet it’s not as nice as my cock, though, huh? Had you completely stretched out, took me so well.” Him and his filthy mouth are a danger to society (and my panties)😈🥵
“You’ve been so good for me, ‘m gonna fill you up again tonight — I’m gonna fuck ya nice ‘n hard, just like I promised. You can be as loud as you want, wanna hear all the pretty noises you can make.” After hearing this I would also come. I mean you’re gonna fill me up tonight, You’re gonna fuck me nice and hard just like you promised and I can be as loud as I want….hell yeah.
The way you write Joel is honestly chefs kiss 💋
“Placing you down on your feet again, he doesn’t give you time to scold him and seals his mouth to yours, one hand pulling you into him by the small of your back, the other cradling your cheek. For the first time, he notices how the softness of your skin elsewhere carries over into your lips, and you hang your arms over his shoulders, fingers threading gently through his curls.” This makes me feel all fuzzy warm in my chest. I’m really going through the emotions here, first I’m horny then it turns into nostalgia, then back to horny and now I feel all lovey dovey 🥹🥰
“Throughout dinner he made sure your parents' glasses were never empty, sending you a wink and a slanted smile with each pour as they became more and more carefree, his free hand caressing your back every time he rounded the table.” I see what you’re doing Joel, getting her parents real drunk so they go to bed pass out and don’t hear any of the feverish fucking that’s about to happen. ☺️😉
“Seems to me that you quite like bein’ punished. Now, I do enjoy puttin’ you in your place, but it’s nice when you’re a good girl and I can reward you instead. You’re all dressed up too, you put on this pretty dress for me?” Who would not like to be punished and put in their place by Joel Miller. As Joel Millers Good Girl, i can say the reward is very nice indeed, but sometimes being a brat is fun. 🤩
“All weepin’ and I’ve barely touched her.” She indeed doesn’t need to be touched by him to weep, looking at him already does it 😝
“Hey, what’s wrong? You alright?” He rests a hand on you, thumb drawing soft circles into the swell of your ass, concern in his eyes.” I smell consent King 👑
“Joel lays his fingers flat and wipes his hand up through you before slapping you hard and leaving a burning, sticky handprint on your ass — you buck your hips back into him, letting out a strangled moan.” I’m a whore for spanking or slapping of any kind ahhhh😫😍🥵
“Never knew you had such a dirty mouth, baby. Definitely ruined this cunt for anyone else, nobody’s gonna make her come like I can. Stretched her so well that anyone else just ain’t gonna do the job.” Yeah if he would be real, and he would do this to me. I would definitely be ruined for anyone else I mean, who could compare to that let’s be real, no one 🤭🤗😅
“Please come inside me, Joel — wanna be full of your come, want it dripping out of me while I fall asleep.” Oh yes I said it before Joel Miller is the only man I would let come inside me no matter how many times he wants I don’t give a fuck. 🤩😅
Nix this was an absolute 10/10 masterpiece 🫶🏻🤍
okay i’ve been gatekeeping this since you sent it in bc it’s actually the nicest thing anyone could ever do 🥹😭
mina thank you sm for reading and taking the time to compile your exstensive thot breakdown 🙏🏻 i appreciate this AND YOU so much 💗

Picture this: a hangry Barbossa.
I can totally imagine him being the type that gets super cranky when hungry. Would you write a story where Barbossa is grumpy and irritable, and the reader helps him to figure out that he’s just hungry?
hello dear💖, thanks for your request.
Barbossa x reader🍏🥧
hangry captains🥧💢
Synopsis: A hungry captain who wakes up in a cranky mood, y/n helps him to realize this.
Warning: none
----
It was the morning and for most of the crew, it was the worst part of the day. Forcing yourself to get up and get to work (if only coffee was invented back then). The captain slept soundly in his quarters, not a sound to disturb him. The inside was rather messy; doubloons and gold splayed out all over the table, maps and documents reading to unknown charted waters laid beneath the galleons of treasure and half a bitten apple sat at the edge; the bitten core was starting to turn a tad brown. A sudden heavy ‘thud’ landed on the table. The monkey, known as Jack, started pushing the gold off the table. He picked up pearls and doubloons, biting onto the hard edges trying to see if it was food. Jack jumped onto the floor to carry out his search, to his luck there was small crumbs. Jack started to collected bits of the shell until it led to a certain hand. The monkey looked up to see his master soundly snoring in his own bed. The sheets were tipped over the side as the blankets and soft cotton were messily spread across the bed. At least they covered the captain, well, sort of. They covered everything but his head and upper back. It seems he had too much to drink from last night, though he wasn’t a carouser like Jack Sparrow. Jack the monkey hopped over to wake his master up. The monkey placed its hand on his master’s face, he tried to shake the captain’s cheek but to no avail did he want to wake. Jack hovered his face over the captains to see if he was dead. Luckily to his relief, he wasn’t. However, the captain wasn’t expecting a cheery wake up call. Hector rolled over as he groaned with annoyance. “nnnn, blusterous son o’ a roach” he grumbled as he rubbed his eyes.
Barbossa shot up from his slumber, he sat at the side of his bed. Jack the monkey glanced up at his master. Something was different, very different, his expression drooped with annoyance and his gaze was one that would kill if you’re in the way. Jack cowered in fear as he hid beneath the chair that slid under the table. Barbossa sneered as he stumbled over to grab his coat hanging on the chair and popped on his hat. With a sudden ‘slam’ of the door swinging open from the quarters, Barbossa watched as the rumpot deckhands scrubbed.
Hector breathed in heavily as he did out, he hobbled over toward the main helm of the pearl. “Outta tha way!”, “Go on move ye lily-livered cur!” he pushed through the deckhands cleaning, not caring if he kicked their bristle brushes out of the way. Many of the men cowered as they scrubbed harder and moved out of the captain's way. He stomped up the wooden stairs onto the main helm, prepared to do his duty. He shouted out “whaddya doin standin thar, all hands hoy yer scurvy bilge rats!”.
“wha’s gotten him hangin’ tha jib” a former member whispered to another. “don know, maybe captains woken up upside down, erd tha makes ye frownin mad”.
A girl leaned against the railing of the ship; she looked up at the captain's grouchy expression. She wasn’t like the rest, y/n had a good judge of character. It’s how she survived the streets of Tortuga. Y/n gazed up at the captain as he gripped the wheel harder than usual. The captain and y/n’s relationship were one often compared to an old married couple. The sweet y/n had been taking care of the captain since she was hired on the pearl, Hector had a soft spot for her. Every insult taken in was never toward her, any threat, he would never direct toward y/n.
The lass decided to take her chances and ask the captain if something had happened, hopefully he hadn’t caught scurvy. Y/n made her way upstairs to confront the captain at the helm. Just as she reached the final step, a flintlock pistol was pointed directly at her face. “Captain~, what a pleasant surprise” y/n smiled, as if she wasn’t already on edge with a pistol pointed directly at her face.
“Whaddya want missy” he grumbled in a firm voice.
“y’know, has anyone ever told you, you looked mighty fearsome and dashing standing upon the helm” y/n gave Hector a compliment.
Hopefully this was enough to get on his good side. Barbossa lowered his pistol, he rolled his eyes in annoyance. “Speak o’ yer request than leave be’fer I feed yer ta the fishes” Hector sighed and tended the helm awaiting y/n’s reasoning. “You seem grumpier than the sharks captain” y/n placed her hands beside her hips, speaking in a playful tone. It was obvious she knew exactly what was going on. If you’ve ever heard of the term hangry, then your familiar with the reason. To be precise, when an animal doesn’t eat, they become aggressive. Well in this case, the lion demands his feastings and a grand feast he shall receive. “Captain, when have you last eaten” y/n asked.
Barbossa turned his head while his hands were both on the wheel “last eaten? why r’ ye so worried about what I last ate?”.
“It maybe you’re just hungry” Y/n confirmed.
“Hungry? An wha’ makes’cha thin’ me appetite be tha epiphany t’ward yer buisness” Barbossa grungily questioned.
Y/n grabbed his hand and wasted no time to feed the grumpy lion his king's feast. She ordered the cook of the pearl to provide all his favourite meals. The captain sat in his quarters still annoyed by the wait. However long after, y/n came into the room, holding a piece of apple pie. It was a little recipe she picked up from spending her time with the cook. The captain took a glance at the apple pie, he grabbed a fork and took a bite. “Not bad” he thought. The apple pie tasted exactly as he pictured, it seemed to have brightened his mood by a lot. “wha’ever ye did er missy, I salute t’ward yer pastry” he smiled up from the girl’s tasty treat. Y/n bowed; she took thanked the captain for his compliment. “How tha blazes did ye figure out what I wanted” he asked.
“My dear captain, I know you so well~, I have sailed the seas and admired you for a long time” y/n blushed.
The captain smiled at y/n’s soft expression; he kept eating the glorious heavenly pastry. The girl had known for quite a long while what the captain needs and wants. It was only a matter of time for she knew he was hangry.
Anyways that's all I have for now:

What If? Kacy canon-divergent drabble #1
Wrote a Kacy drabble in 3 hours. Inspired by this post and this post.
Lucy's POV, 2nd. Angst (minimal) with happy ending.
It’s too much, all at once. She is singing to you, and it's too much.
You’ve always been like this. You feel too much, and don’t know what to do, how to respond with all that emotions swirling in your chest, your stomach, the tips of your fingers. So you do the first thing you think of then.
You walk away.
(You will later regret it.)
That night, once you get home and wash the day off of you, you think about secrets and vulnerability and the way she looks at you in the lights and the smiles she reserves for you behind closed doors and…you want to talk to her.
But it’s 1am and you think after the day you both had you figure you can call her the next day. You fall asleep, knowing you will hear her voice tomorrow.
(You forgot to tell her she has a nice voice, when she bared her soul and sang to you. You will also regret that.)
You call her and for the first time ever, she doesn’t pick up right away. You fumble through a voicemail and go about your day with a nervous energy that reminds you of your first day at work.
Monday comes and still no response. You try not to let it get to you, but you can’t help but worry. It’s unlike her.
(You realize that even when you were butting heads with DIA Officer Whistler, she had never left you hanging like this.)
You come into the office and ignore the questioning look from Jesse and Kai. Tennant just raises one eyebrow, and you shrug. You don’t know what to say. You go down to Ernie’s lair to deliver his coffee. You don’t expect him to say-
“Hey, about what happened at the party, with the tall blonde FBI Special Agent, I didn’t think she would take it literally. Sorry. How are you feeling?”
“What do you mean you ‘didn’t think she would take it literally’?”
“I,” it’s rare when Ernie doesn’t seem to know what to say, “I may have…told her to? I told her to go big or go home and may have suggested serenading as a way. I didn’t think she would go for it!”
“What? Why would you do that?” you find anger rising in your chest, not because of Ernie’s meddling, but because you expect him to know you better, to know that you might not respond to that positively.
“Because!” he raises his voice, not angry, just trying to explain, “because you love her, Lucy. I know you. I know you do. And I don’t understand why you’re denying yourself of what you can have with Whistler. And because she loves you too.”
“You don’t know that.”
“That you love her? Or that she loves you?”
“You don’t know her as much as you know me. As I know her.”
“Are you sure about that? Because I can tell you with 100% certainty that she loves you.”
“How?” you hate how defeated you sound. You don’t know what you want anymore. You want to figure it out, to have an actual conversation with Kate, but here you are again, talking to everybody but Kate.
Then he shows you the video. You look at her and can’t help but be amazed at her determination, at her vulnerability, at her love. Her love for you.
(A week after the Pearl Harbor celebration, you were both under the cover at her place, and she told you, through tears that turned into sobs, how she was never lonely because of Noah, how it was them two against the world, how scared she was when he was deployed overseas, and how she was a shell of a person after he died. You thought this was the most fragile she was in front of you, and you thanked her, for trusting you enough with this part of her, for telling you a history you were sure she didn’t want reminded of, and you tried to comfort her with soft touch and kisses.)
(And now, now she shared that part, even just a glimpse of it, to a stranger - an enemy, to coworkers, all so she could help you. And yes secrets are bad and you two will still need to have that conversation, but in this moment you know more than ever that you’re in love with this woman.)
A text from Tennant telling you both to go up startles you, and you realize you are crying. You wipe your tears and fix your make-up, and dare Ernie to say anything. He stays quiet, but his eyes are understanding.
When you go up to the bullpen, you all meet a new FBI Special Agent, one who says things like “Special Agent Whistler is on a special assignment” and “I will be the FBI liaison for the time being” and “no I don’t know how long this assignment will take.”
You think about your unreturned call and voicemail, and how her face fell when you walked away, and the ground feels like it’s opening up under you. You run on autopilot for the rest of the day to the team’s worried looks, with quiet anxiety beneath your skin.
She’ll be fine, you think. You think about fractured ribs and minor head trauma and-
She’ll be fine.
You see her again three weeks later in the hospital. You don’t know what happened, can barely register the voices around you, just something about a bomb, and shrapnels. You think about that night under the cover, when she told you about Noah and how she would follow him anywhere. You pray she doesn’t, not now, not there.
You keep your eyes to the ground, ignoring Tennant and Curtis talking in a quiet voice, and the man sitting five feet away from you, who is apparently the freaking Director of the NSA, who “borrowed” Kate for a secret mission with one of his teams. Something snaps in you. You turn to him and your voice is low, containing nothing but anger and hurt and how he shouldn’t have taken an FBI agent, should just have used his people, should have looked after her better. Tennant tries to stop her, and Curtis looks uncomfortable, but the stupid Director just looks at her with quiet understanding, and says-
“I’m sorry.” and “You love her.” and when you don’t respond, has the audacity to reassure you. “She will be okay. She’s tough.” like he knows anything about her.
(Later on, when Kate is okay, and awake in a hospital bed with you right by her side, he will walk in to check in on her, a teddy bear in his hand, which he hands to her with a I love you, get well soon, Katie and Kate will explain to you how she used to hug a teddy bear when she was sick or hurt as a kid, and that he’s her father. You are still trying to process this.)
(She also tells you how she has called her father sobbing in an emotional breakdown about you, and he has suggested she comes to work on a case with him to take her mind off of you and take her away from the debacle she created that night. You shouldn’t have walked away.)
When the doctor comes out and says that she’s okay, and is expected to make a full recovery, you sag with relief. Kai hands you a water and some food. You sit by her bedside all night long.
A few days later, when she wakes up, you talk to her. You kiss her, like how you should have done that night, and you apologize. She smiles the smile only for you, and says it’s okay, because you’re here now and that’s all that matters. It shouldn’t be, but at the end of the day, you love her and she loves you and oh, isn’t that all that matters?
(She will tell you how she hates being out of her comfort zone. You nod, you know this, because Kate tends to stick to things she knows. She will tell you how being with you makes her uncomfortable, because she is not used to an actual serious relationship, not used to being emotionally vulnerable, not used to sharing herself, but with you, oh with you she is willing to be uncomfortable, as long as you’re there. Because the reward is worth all the discomfort. You kiss her, and tell her how she lights a fire in you ever since that night at the bar.)
In another universe, that night you would walk away and Kate would be gone. In another universe, you would stop her and kiss her right there and then. In this universe, you walked away, but you still got her, forever and always.
#you know normally i dont count 1k5w as a drabble#but i did write this in one sitting#and its unbeta'd#more importantly i can expand on a lot more i just dont want to right now so this is it#tell me what you think?#dont know if ill post this on ao3 yet#we'll see#kacy#lucy tara#kate whistler#ncis: hawai'i#ncis hawaii#my writing

Hello best author in the world I have a doubt harry has a lot of money both form her parents and Sirius so couldn't she buy something for the Weasley like buying ron a broom from one of your spoilers , can I have a scene where it shows that Harriet is rich , by rich means loaded
Hello, hope you’re doing well! Thank you for the ask.
I think Harry — since it is from Harry’s POV — she doesn't really talk about being loaded. She definitely is, but she never goes talking about it like some people *cough* Malfoy *cough*
Huh, I never wrote any sort of scene in nynn of Harry buying her friends sth expensive to show she is rich. She absolutely is. Harry bought three omnioculars on Quidditch World Cup, after all... Hmm, I think Harry gets them expensive stuff for their birthdays and for Christmas bcs it's the only time she can get away with buying the Weasleys expensive things without making them feel bad... Hang on...
---------
Gift shopping for Christmas has become Harry’s favourite time of the year. This time — and birthdays — was the only time she could spent some extra cash on a gift worthwhile. Of course, she set herself a limit. Nothing more than fifty galleons (too bad, she wanted to buy Ron a Firebolt) each.
Hermione was the easiest to shop for. Harry bought two books for Hermione — Arithmancy and Warding — which cost twenty galleons each but when she asked the librsrian in the Hogwarts library for the best material, she swore up and down on those two books.
Ron could be a bit tricky. She would have bought him some robes, but Fred and George already got him those. Harry decided to buy him the best Keeper gloves, ones worn by professional, star player Keepers. They cost fifty galleons. Worth every coin.
For Mrs Weasley — and this gift was brilliant in Harry’s mind — she got her a full-day package at the best spa and massage salon in London.
For Mr Weasley, Harry bought him the Culture of Britain and Its History that would teach him all about Muggle history in Britain and the current culture — something he didn't learn in school. She thought about buying him a ticket for theatre, but she didn't know what genre Mr Weasley liked, so she settled on this book. It cost her fifty pounds, but it was university grade learning material. It was bound to be very educational for Mr Weasley.
For Snuffles, she bought red paw shoes (they were too cute, all right?) for snow, and for Sirius, she bought the best wizarding cologne, with a scent like fresh clouds. It was a comforting, nice scent. It cost sixty galleons, breaking the budget, but it was worth it.
For Ginny, she bought her hair shampoo, conditioner and perfume Ginny always gushed about with Luna.
For Fred and George, she bought them wizarding ties. For Fred, blue — his favourite colour — and for George, an orange one, which was George's favourite colour.
For Lupin, she bought lots of Earl Grey teabags to last him for six months, a wool winter cloak, a light brown wizarding robe (Lupin liked brown) and two pairs of footwear: oxfords and men’s boots. Did it cost more than fifty galleons? Maybe. Was it worth it? Absolutely.
For Tonks, she bought a yellow fluffy sweater Tonks liked in a shop in Diagon Alley but was too expensive to buy — the shop in Hogsmeade luckily had it.
To Luna, Harry bought a hand-crafted, shell necklace of numerous shells and pearls on a simple string, which she would send off with Hedwig.
For Dobby, she bought ten pairs of socks.
With all her purchases placed in lightweight charmed bags with an extension charm, Harry walked down Hogsmeade, very happy with all the purchases.
However, something stopped her in her tracks. A thought she never had before — or maybe she did, when she was young and hopeful, and didn’t remember it.
I wonder what Voldemort would like.
Long moments passed, and Harry stood still among the snow and the snowflakes, face cuddled in the crook of her Gryffindor scarf.
Probably Harry in a big gift box with green ribbon and all. Wasn't it Harry, after all, who was supposed to be Voldemort’s gift for his rebirthing party in the graveyard?
Well, Harry couldn't do that. Maybe some lotions for his skin to appear more smooth? Voldemort was very pale... Maybe sunscreen against sunburn? Or, maybe, she could buy him shoes and socks...
Harry frowned. Why was she thinking so hard about a hypothetical gift to Voldemort? Nothing would be good enough for his standards, anyway...
Harry sighed, looking up to the white sky. A few snowflakes landed on her face; little stars falling from the sky.
Then, the answer dawned on Harry. What she could get Voldemort for Christmas. It was so simple, so obvious, that Harry felt stupid for not realising it before. How could it have taken Harry this long to figure it out?
Invigorated, Harry rushed back to the castle. She needed to find Collin. She needed to ask him to take a photograph of her.

“All He Deserves” pt 2 Mario bros AU.
(keep in mind I wrote this like, 11 years ago, so waaaay before the movie. Also I’ve always held the headcanon that Luigi is gay, so don’t like it, don’t read it. Pretty simple. CW language, implied sexual content, smoking etc. If you want to know what Trace’s voice is like, look up Double Trouble from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
"Trace? I'm home!" Luigi called out as he closed the door, making sure to lock it. "Hey sugar, in the kitchen!" Trace's smoky voice came from beyond the alcove. After hanging up his coat and slipping off his boots, Luigi followed the smell of Trace's cooking. The Hammer Bro, or Hammer Sis, as he preferred to be called, was frying up something in a skillet as a pot of lemon sauce bubbled on the back burner. Trace was about 42 years old and dressed in female clothing when out of his shell, which was often when around home. Today he had on a hot pink silk tank top and white shorts with silver glitter around the waist and hems. Oversized pearl earrings that were yellowed with age peered out from the dark brown locks that hung down to his shoulders. One of many wigs he owned. Pink fuzzy slippers covered his feet. He swayed and hummed to the tune that crackled over the cheap radio. Luigi grabbed a can of pop from the fridge and popping it open, chugged it down. "Were you safe?" When Trace asked were you safe, Luigi had long ago learned he meant three things. 'Did they hurt you?', 'Did they follow the contract' and most importantly, 'Do I need to kill anyone?' "I was safe." he replied, coming over. Trace kissed his cheek, leaving a red smear of lipstick. "That's my sugar. Now, grab some plates, this is almost ready." Luigi's thoughts began drifting as he set the table... It was raining and near freezing. Luigi, desperate for food and sick with fever, was searching through a dumpster behind a little diner. He had had a little luck here the previous night and found some scraps. Now it looked like he would go hungry tonight. He had searched for coins but most had been taken by Troopas when they built the new buildings. He had also tried Wario's castle, but it was a disaster site. The windows were smashed out, and no sign of his cousins or the treasure Wario had worked so hard to collect remained. He hoped to find something amongst the rubble to sell, but it had all been looted or destroyed. Now he was here, digging around as best he could in the dim orange light of the flickering streetlamp. His clothing was torn and stained with mud and dried blood, his hair was plastered down from the rain. His cap had been lost when he fled from the battle. There was a cough and he jerked, falling to the ground. A dark figure walked towards him as he shrank up against the dumpster, sniffling as he tried to hide in its shadow. There was the faint glow of a lit cigarette and it bobbed as the figure knelt next to him. "Oh sugar, what happened to you? You look like death." The voice was kind. The first kind voice he had heard in a long time. He let out a soft sob. Trace slid off his coat and kneeling, wrapped it around Luigi's trembling body. "There now, you're gonna freeze out here. When's the last time you had a good meal?" "D-Don't 'member." Luigi looked up at the Hammer Bro. He was wearing red lipstick, and a silver sequin dress with black heels. A black pixie cut wig with silver hairband covered his head. The Hammer Bro smiled at him. "Well c'mon then. Lets get you into some warm blankets and I'll fix you a hot meal." "I-I c-can't pay you." Luigi mumbled tearfully as he helped him up. The Hammer Bro looked him up and down. "Oh, I think you got a way to pay me, sugar, but we'll work that out later. By the way, my name's Trace." The next thing he remembered was waking in a soft bed. His eyesight was blurred but he could make out he had been bathed and dressed in warm, clean nightclothes. Trying to sit up, Trace gently pushed him back down. "Shhh, just rest, sugar. You've been through hell." Something cool met his lips and he drank the bittersweet liquid from the bottle. He recognized the taste of the mushroom potion, followed by a drink of cold water. He grew eager at the water and tried to gulp it down but Trace pulled it away. "Ah, easy, don't want to get sick."
After he had recovered, Trace had given him the upstairs of the old two-story house, which had been converted into an apartment of sorts. It was a roomy bedroom complete with bathroom and small kitchen, but Luigi often took meals downstairs with Trace. The Hammer Bro had nursed him back to health and offered him the chance to work as his only employee with Trace as his first client and his teacher. That first time, Luigi drew his legs up against his chest, his eyes wide when Trace suggested they practice. "I-I've never... I mean I'm..." Trace stroked his cheek. "It's okay, I've taught many a first timer." Learning took a while. Trace was strict but gentle. "Don't cry in front of a client, save that for home. You can cry with me or on your own but never in front of a client. Drinking is fine, but not getting drunk. Always keep your head on enough to make sure you get paid. Don't count the payment in front of the client, if they insist you do, tell them to call me." When Luigi asked, Trace claimed he had picked that name because there was only a 'trace' of what made him male left. Luigi would later tease him saying it was one big trace and that Trace's own clients were lucky. Trace would counter by kissing him and saying he preferred sharing that luck. The two fell into a comfortable relationship with each other. Both understood they had only one thing to offer clients, and when together in the bedroom it felt different than work. More peaceful and fulfilling. When it came to work, Trace set up the clients, both did the work, and the pay was a decent split between them with a household fund set up for groceries and other items. Admittedly it was hard at first. Many times, Luigi came home and had stayed in bed, refusing to come out and eat until Trace had made the threat of force feeding him. After a while the praise from clients came in. He was polite, kind, and easy to be with. This led to repeat clients. The pay was good, there was a contract in place, and woe to any clients who failed to follow the rules. Trace was not one to mess with and he had a reputation for enforcing the contract. One way of reinforcing was the large knife he kept on the table when interviewing new clients. There had been one time Luigi had come home with a black eye. After Trace calmed him down, he went out and Luigi found the large steak knife was gone from its usual spot on the kitchen wall. Trace came back around four that morning and Luigi never saw the client again.
"Sugar?" Luigi blinked, coming out of his thoughts. "Huh?" "I said 'time to eat'." Trace laughed. "You were in lala land for a minute there." Luigi blushed slightly. "Sorry, guess I'm pretty tired." "You didn't sleep afterwards?" "Nah, you know me. I don't want to scare away anyone with those nightmares I have." Trace hummed and nodded. Luigi was prone to waking up crying or sometimes screaming from nightmares. He had taught himself not to go into a dreaming sleep when with clients. The only time he fell fully asleep was at home. Many times Trace had to wake him with soft words and a soothing touch. "Well eat up and then how about you go crash for a while?" "Sounds good." They ate in silence for a while until Luigi spoke. "So anyone call for a job?" "Two, but they're on hold." Trace's eyes sparkled. "I'm giving you the week off, sugar." Luigi nearly choked. "W-What?" "I think you've earned it." Trace said. "You've been working that cute ass off and I'm tired too, so I figure we can take a break." He paused as he took a bite. "Besides, now you can give me a chance at your sweet behind." Luigi burst out laughing and Trace joined in. After eating and clearing away the dishes, Luigi looked out the kitchen window. "Ugh, still raining." He pulled a cigarette from the pack in his pocket. "Mind if I...?" he motioned towards the back door and Trace nodded. One rule was neither smoked in the house. Luigi could in his room as long as the window was open. Luigi cracked the screen door and lit up, blowing the menthol smoke out into the rain. "I hate this weather." he said softly. "Bad memories?" Trace said gently. "Yeah." Luigi grew quiet as he stared out at the grey sky. Trace came over and kissed his cheek again. "You don't let those old thoughts get to you, okay sugar?" "I won't." Luigi agreed. "Guess I do need a break. Seems like they come up when I'm tired." Trace paused, thinking. "Sugar, I have something for you. Put out that cancer stick and sit down for a minute." Luigi chuckled as he crushed the cigarette and tossed the butt in the garbage. He sat at the table and Trace vanished into the other room. There was a rustling sound and he came back holding a thin, square package wrapped in leftover Christmas paper. He handed it to Luigi, saying "wait a minute, okay?" Luigi felt a little puzzled as Trace pulled the other chair close to him and sat down. "It took me a while to find this, but I understand if you don't want to keep it." He motioned towards the package with a soft 'go ahead.' Luigi pulled the paper off and gasped softly. A whimper escaped him. Framed in an old wooden frame was a newspaper clipping, a photo of Mario with his arm around Luigi's shoulders. His brother's smiling face was full of joy. Luigi held the frame close to his chest as he began to cry. He had lost all photos of his brother and finding any hint of him after Bowser took over felt impossible. "H-How?" he whispered. "I found it in the attic," Trace said. "I was looking through old papers and there it was." Luigi let out a shuddering sob. "Th-Thank you." He murmured something in Italian, holding the picture out to look at it again. Setting it gently on the table, he buried his face in his hands and broke down. Trace put his arm around Luigi before looking at the photo again. "You share his eyes. That's the first thing I noticed about you in that alley, those stunning eyes." Luigi wiped at his tears. "Same as Papa." he sniffled. He turned and hugged Trace tightly. "Thank you so much for this." Trace pulled back slightly and kissed him. Luigi closed his eyes and returned the kiss as Trace's hands wandered down his back to grope at him. Finally pulling away, Trace took his hands. "C'mon sugar, you can get some sleep later." Luigi laughed as they went hand in hand to Trace's room.
Life was rough at times, and the past hurt, but sometimes Luigi had to admit it wasn't all bad. Maybe he deserved a little more than he thought.
